San Jose State +12 over Stanford
The Spartans took it on the chin last week against Florida although their run defense still looked solid even in that pasting. The Stanford defense wont put up the same resistance even with 8 of the 11 starters back. Stanford was 2-9 last year and with them going against a solid run defense and a very capable offense in San Jose state, it is hard for me to imagine that they can win this by more then double digits. The line on this game opened up at Stanford -14 and has now gone down to -12. Who in their right mind is betting money on San Jose? You dont dont read about this game in any of the forums so i doubt it is the public. Since i fall into the category of not being "right of mind" ill join this unforeseen and unexpected bandwagon and play San Jose as my top pick on Saturday
Total of the Day
UCLA / Colorado over 55
Defense, defense o where art thou defense...well not in the UCLA / Colorado game..at least not in my opinion. UCLA starts off their season today with a new offensive coordinator, but alot of offensive talent. The number 2 rusher in the PAC10 and some talented wide receivers should be able to give the very weak looking and susceptible Colorado defense some fits. Colorado gave up almost 600 total offensive yards last week against CSU. On the other hand, Colorado did display some offensive weapons of their own and while the Bruins have strength on the defensive line, the secondary may be exploited in this one. I just need each team to score one TD per quarter and the over is mine..not to much to ask with these two teams is it???
Best of the rest:
Tennesse -19 1/2 over Marshall
Stan Hill of Marshall was picked off three times by the Hofstra defense...Hofstra!!! If he was looking like a deer staring at headlights in that game, what will he look like against the volunteer defense!!! Fresno showed last night that they are not a bad team and Tennessee just spanked them defensively. The marshall defense......what defense? I still might have taken this game at - 29
Oklahoma State -21 over Wyoming
The Cowboys looking to come back and play better and less turnover prone football and the other Cowboy team from Wyoming is just what the doctor ordered. Oklahoma State should be able to move the ball at will against this porous defense from Wyoming. Sure Wyoming beat that powerhouse of a team from Montana State by a whooping 11 points.....but did you know that Montana St. had 5 turnovers in that game or they might have won!!! Ill lay the big number
