illinois over 152.5

kind of a sqare-ish play, although the number has come down from 155. but i think were looking at an 82-77 or 84-78 kind of final. as for who is winning, dont ask me. think its a total coinflip. carolinas firepower and overall talent makes them a justifiable chalk even against the overall #1. but illinois has a far better defense. that being said, when the illini have faced uptempo teams, they have torn them apart and scored a ton of points (89-72 win over gonzaga, 91-73 win over wake forest, 83-66 win over oregon, 81-68 win over michigan state, and -- albeit in overtime -- 90-89 over arizona). so i have a hard time thinking carolina is gonna hold illinois below 79 or 80 points. im not worried about carolina holding up their end. im not saying this is gonna be run and gun with no defense being played. but the chalk doesnt play any defense and both teams can shoot the ball from the perimeter and are solid from the line. think its gonna take a lot for this one to stay under 158 (let alone 152.5). been doing ok with the postseason totals. dont want to end the season on a losing note. we'll see. but think this one ends up around 163 or 164.

gman2, why do you call it squareish if the # has dropped 3 pts since opening? just curious ... I liked U slightly at 155 but am not going to bet total ...

gregg:

basically because joe schmo perceives carolina and illinois as two high-scoring teams and will plunk down 20 bucks on a total thats 12 points less than what the two teams average on the year offensively (88ppg and 77 ppg).

still think its the right play though, just not for the obvious reason.

illinois has torn apart uptempo teams and carolina shouldnt need that 2nd half of the msu game to serve as an epiphany for how they need to play to win.

Thanks

Thanks

Gman,

I just follow and do not complain when I lose. Just wanted you to know that I played the over. I debated all day what to do and I think I will stay away from the side and play the over for my biggest play of the year. THANKS FOR THE INSIGHT AND THE BOTTOM LINE IS THERE IS VALUE IN TAKING THE OVER. IN THIS GAME VALUE IS ALL WE ARE LOOKING FOR. "Right"????

You really went ice cold at the end here under was the play. The public had the Over but the sharps had the Under

Yes Navarro, and UNC was the play also. And you know what else? Yesterday the Cubs, Sox, Brewers, and Baltimore were the plays too. And last year absolutely the play was to take Boston to win the WS. Can't wait to come on the site tomorrow so you can tell me what today's plays were.

Question: if you knew the sharps had the under, where were you before 9 eastern time last night with your post? Aparrently you decided to keep it to yourself. They might be a good thing to continue before you make critical posts with no value or insight.

Sorry g-man for jumping in here.

gman, don't even listen to these scrubs who come on here without doing any handicapping, follow you, and then when you get one loss make an indirect "shit talking" post...great season, were gonna have to find another team to "send" us to vegas, bu I am sure we will :)
