The NFL betting and College Football Betting season are finally underway with kickoff coming tonight. To be more accurate, the college football season kicks off tonight and the NFL season kicks off on week from tonight. There is a slew of games to handicap on the card so let's take a look and examine some of the key game for week one and make some sports picks.

Nevada Wolf Pack @ Notre Dame Fight Irish

Line: Fighting Irish -14.5

The Fighting Irish are overrated - I'll tell you that. They might be a good team but they aren't as good as everyone in the media is saying. They are 2-14 in their last 16 games against bowl teams - that's not very good. The Fighting Irish have the better defense and they should have a field day against the awful Nevada secondary. But Nevada, has a very underrated offense and this team is no slouch moving the football. Their pistol offense should give the Irish some problems. Look for Nevada to keep it close in this shootout.

BYU Cougars @ Oklahoma Sooners

Line: Sooners -22

Although many people feel that the BYU Cougars might be able to trade points and give the Sooners a run for their money, there is good reason to think otherwise. The Cougars have lost four of their five starting offensive linemen from last year and Oklahoma's defensive front has improved in that span. Although this is a battle between two ranked teams, Oklahoma is significantly better and they should have many problems in this contest. The Cougars secondary is a mess right now and the Sooners will expose it.

Miami Hurricanes @ Florida State Seminoles

Line: Seminoles -6

The Hurricanes head out on the road against their biggest rival in a game that should be interesting. Both teams have obviously lost some of their luster from the late 90's versions but these teams are still decent. Both are trying to make their ascent up the ladder in the ACC but make no bones about it, FSU is the better team. Their offensive line could be one of the best in NFL history and they should be able to run the ball rather easily in this game. If that's the case, their offense will work well and their be able to put up some points. Miami is still a very young, green team and you can expect them to keep it close but the sports betting blog community isn't picking them to pull off this upset.
