===========================
4 unit plays.......0-1....(-4.4 units)
2 unit plays..... 8-1....(+14.3 units)
1 unit plays.......12-14 (-2.75 units)
overall...............20-16...(+7.15 units)
===========================

only two plays for saturday. hate to hype up two plays especially coming off the poor saturday that i had last week, but i like these two plays enough where i might not even add more than one play to this card (if i get a favorable line). but these plays seem really solid to me. take it fwiw, but i played only these two for this weekend:

2.5 units.....southern cal/notre dame under 43
i dont even see 35 points being scored. but hell, what do i know.

2 units........ball state (+16) over miami
nut state quietly playing decent football and should hang

1 unit.......central florida (+7) over akron
zips defense is what should allow ucf to hang within the number

more thoughts on both games below

A positive and negative for your USC/ND under play.

USC has major injuries to their LB corps. #1 LB has sprained ankle and is game time decision and the starting MLB is still recovering from a high ankle sprain. His backup is out for the ND game with shoulder injury. This will hurt the defense even if Grootegood plays cuz he will not be 100% and he is awesome player.

Now the #1 USC tight end Dom. Byrd is OUT for the year. He in my opinion was the best pass catching tight end in the conference and was a MAJOR threat. BIG LOSS especially since our #2 tight end was already out for year and now we are starting our 3rd string (but he has experience and is 6-9 so big target.

Another thing to remember is USC offense is really clicking now (last 2 games) and our rushing game has finally come around. Something to think about.

FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!

southern cal/notre dame under 43
===============================
notre dame is anemic on offense. as nice as it was to see jones finally break out last week against pitt, and the irish gaining 352 on the ground vs the panthers -- those numbers look great, but thats nothing but an abberation in my opinion, and notre dame is kidding themselves if they think they can run the ball on usc's defense consistently. southern cal has had some high scoring games this year but under carroll, the trojans have shown to be willing to play an east-coast style of football when the situation calls for it. notre dame seems to just "manage the game" and not make mistakes in an effort to put themselves in a position to win in the 4th quarter. i cant see willingham trying to get to sophisticated with the offense (as far as passing) because a shootout is not the way to go vs usc. it probably sounds like im contradicting myself (saying the irish cant run it vs usc, but that willingham wont pass it) -- well, i just believe it to be true, partly because i dont see notre dame doing much of anything on offense saturday, and partly because i think willingham will try to play field position football with short passes and a general conservative approach. clock should move fast in this one, and i think this one ends up in the neighborhood of usc winning by about 10-13 and the total being around 35-38.

ball state (+16) over miami,ohio
=========================
cards cant ask for a more ideal spot. theyve played pretty solid football over the last month or so and are sitting at a surprising 2-0 in the mac west. granted their two wins have been against two conference mutants (central michigan and kent state) but its still a solid way to start the conference slate. what makes me believe they are capable of hanging in this one is the fact that they went into two very tough environments and performed admirably. they went to pittsburgh and boston college and were competive in both games, providing both teams with a mini-scare. the final scores of the games are deceptive (vs pitt a 42-21 loss and vs boston college a 53-29 loss). ball state was tied with pitt at the half (14-14). obviously the stronger team pulled away in the 2h, but still a good showing for bsu. against boston college, the cards were as close at 28-23 in the 2nd half before wearing down. now on to the schedule spot -- the cards are coming off a road win in kent. now theyve got this game saturday against miami as their homecoming game. and theyve had a bye week to prepare for it. preparation- and motivation-wise, this is as good as its ever gonna get for bsu. a good crowd to play a good team with the cards program showing some signs of life. miami coming in off two blowout wins (45-20 vs akron and 59-3 vs buffalo). i think the redhawks could be lethargic here. miami hasnt been tested at all this season. bsu certainly not in the upper echelon of the mac quite yet, but that plays in their favor. i dont know if miami will be as focused as they should be here. another thing i find very impressive about ball state is that they take care of the football. ball state has only turned the ball over THREE TIMES the entire season, while forcing their opponent into 11 turnovers. if ball state is going to hang in this game- they gotta take care of the football and it looks to me like hoke and his staff clearly have emphasized taking care of the football. the more i look at this game, the more i like it. i think bsu is a very live home dog.

also- if anyone in the orlando area can find any definitive news on the status of central florida's schneider for saturday, please let me know in this thread somehow. if he plays, i think im gonna take a shot on the knights. but i definitely pass if hes out. i cant get anything locally from the cleveland/akron/canton area on his status. its all akron-related and all akron feature stories.

central florida (+7) over akron
==========================
line tells me schneider aint playing (although that hasnt been 100% confirmed, but i can surmise h'es out due to line move.
having said that, im trying the knights anyways, mainly because i just dont think akrons defense is consistent enough to lay points (especially a TD). as we know, zips can score and score in bunches. but their achilles heel is that defense. central florida looked absolutely awful last week in ohio, committing personal fouls galore and basically just laying down for the bobcats. this team has gotta have some pride. even sans schneider, ucf should be able to get their offense moving. gotta take a small shot on ucf. could live to regret it - but gotta try. yesterday i was planning on passing if schneider was out, but line move was too much to pass up. from (+4) to (+7) creates some value.

got my a$$ handed to me this week. not the first time its happened, nor will it be the last.

doesnt take a genius to realize youre patronizing me - especially after your comments about me the other day

dont worry- what goes around comes around. that i can assure you. ill be here long after youre gone.

dont even bother replying and claiming sincerity to your post. your motive is obvious. youre not going to start sh1t with me like you did the other day, and then follow my plays all the sudden.

like i said, what goes around comes around. youll get yours in time.

peace.

Actually, I will take the time to reply, as far as being here long after me, will you be here as long as you were at GT or Phx Sports? Well then I guess I will outlast you, funny thing about your comments in Anthony's post, you said you could really care about his plays that you didn't even check them. Well good thing about Jack's, you wee scoping out his post, so then you must of cared. If your track record follows you will report this to Jack as a bash, when all I said was that I am sure you will rebound next week.

my reasons for leaving both those sites are simple.

left phoenix because the traffic was a little subpar. really enjoy the ability to trade information and opinions in more "real time". the site here it setup the same way, but the traffic is obviously much much higher and there are much better cappers here. definitely some good guys over there, just didnt feel like it was ever really "hoppin", even on the good days

as far as GT, that one is simple. i found this site while i was posting some stuff over there. i decided to post some stuff at both places. one of the main guys over there took offense to that (that i wasnt "exclusively" posting at his site). well i dont earn a "paycheck for posting", and it amazed me that he was bothered with me trading some info over here. i think you would agree that none of us are "under contract" to post at a certain spot. thats silly. therefore, i simply moved on to this board.

quite honestly, its simply a natural progression. when i left GT, i was up a ton of units. im a modest guy, but i did very very well on everything i posted there. im not sure if my record and unit gain is still up there on their page, but it was in the neighborhood of +95 to +100 units in all sports combined. really enjoyed it over there. just was scratching my head that one of the moderators took offense to me getting info and trading thoughts with guys here as well.

like i said, its natural progression. simply find the board that fits you best. im sure you would agree with that. ive been very successful at each board ive posted at.

i just wish i would have found this site earlier on, or perhaps a few years ago. just took me awhile to find arguably the best site out there (which is here)

jack has a great thing going here.

as far as you go -- why would i say anything to jack about you? you havent bashed me. its apparent you were patronizing me in
your earlier post, but thats no big deal.

to be quite honest with you, i dont mind it if you break my balls about my plays. i mean that. i had a terrible day. but thankfully, i can afford it because of the success i had earlier in the season. but it doesnt take a rocket scientist to see i got tattooed today. live and learn. not the end of the world. you will never EVER see me cover up losses.

all i ask for is that guys not make sh1t up about me. like when you flame me and say i was run off another forum. thats not only wrong, its just stupid. personally, i like all the sites ive posted at. some guys just like to run a "dictatorship" with their sites, and thats stupid. we're all free to roam the net and find the best places for information. i tend to think its here. that rubbed another site i was posting at the wrong way-- however i still remain in contact with him via email to this day. hes a good guy. i just didnt agree with the way things were run. as an adult, im entitled to make a decision as to how i spend my time on the net. to feel like i should have an "obligation" to post somewhere as opposed to somewhere else, thats silly

take it easy man.
clearly, i have no issue with you. just felt it was wrong for you to make stuff up about places ive posted in the past. maybe some guys stumbled upon madjacks.com as their first site they ever found and never had to look back. unfortunately, i didnt stumble upon this site until last year. theres a lot of great guys ive met at various boards. i still keep in touch with a handful of em to this day. i would never say a bad thing about any of em.

i gotta put this day behind me and get ready for nfl.

good luck man

The Phoenix Sports may be true, but at GT you were exposed at another site for stiffing someone for over a grand and called out on it. What I don't understand is why you cant stand others to prosper? Anthony is by far a much better handicapper than yourself, yet you have made every attempt to undermine him, why?The guy wins why attack him. it make no sense, you said you dont care anything about his plays yet you must you were in his thread.

like i said, i open to all constructive criticism regarding my capping. im not going to even waste my time with some stupid nonsense that people make up about me at other sites. personally, i just sit back and watch what some guys can concoct as far as stories go. ive learned to just laugh and ignore stuff. if you want to string along stories, by all means do it. not really worried about trivial nonsense.

as far as other cappers go, youre entitled to your opinion.

like i said, ill keep hitting my 53-56% like i do with regularity each season. if people want to coattail some plays, thats cool. if not, thats cool too. im not here to get into "contests" and try to prove anything to anyone else.

ive got a lot of other interests in my life that clearly take precedence over trivial nonsense.
