this is one game where past meetings can get tossed out the window, simply because the old cmu coach staff (and program for that matter) was a nightmare. kelly has completely changed the attitude of the program and theyve gone from a power rushing team to now a team that spreads you out and is very aggressive with their playcalling.
not sure if i mentioned it earlier -- if so, ill repeat it, because this summarizes my thoughts on the game:
cmich is going to be one of the best teams in the mac in a few years. but they might be one year away from pulling off this upset. their defense is what could make the difference in this game (and could provide a toledo cover). an outright cmich win wouldnt be a huge surprise, nor would it be a huge upset. but i think that might be a year away. just dont trust cmich's defense enough to play a full 4 quarters.
hopefully youve drawn some insight from this.
basically, one team is on the cusp of becoming a mac contender (cmich). the other is already there, and knows how to win big games (toledo). will be interesting to see if cmich meets the challenge.
to answer your last question - just like a cmu outright win wouldnt be a surprise, i definitely dont think toledo by 14-17 would be out of the question either. hate to be non-committal like that, but thats the way i see it.

hate to say it but i didnt even cap the smiss game. didnt cap miami/temple either, for the same reason (middle of the season non-conf games in footbll tend to be weird sometimes) sorry my man.
