I have to work a half day today at the real job (selling beer) so I've got these early games in already and will research and post the later games later on this afternoon.

Last week: 3-4 on posted games.

Today
------------------------------

1)Florida State(-9.5)
A rare favourite for me. State simply has too much team speed for the Irish, and with the extra week off to prepare it's a solid play. With so much emotion being involved in a game like this, both on the field, and in the gamblers mind, I will always take the side of Vegas and seeing this line move towards Notre Dame all week has been very interesting.

2)Auburn(+4)
Both teams have some injuries to deal with, but the key in this one is that Auburn is a much better team at home and LSU is traditionally not a road warrior. We'll see.

3)Western Michigan(+3)
Western Michigan has had several close losses to some quality opponents.........that masks the fact that this squad is much better than their 2-5 record indicates. Northern Illinois could get caught in a look ahead situation with Bowling Green up next week.

4)Northwestern(+14)
I always like getting points at home in the Big 10, especially when the visitor, Purdue in this case, is coming off a tough, emotional loss at home the previous week. It's very tough to go on the road after that and get yourself up for a team like Northwestern.......and have to give 14 points.

More later,
Good luck out there today,
Tiger

Some great early games going on right now.........Great day to be a College Football fan!!

Adding Some Mid-Afternoon Games
------------------------------------------------

5)Oregon(Pick)
USC is only 1-2 on the road this year, have lost the last 4 to Oregon, and haven't won on the road against a ranked PAC-10 team in the last 7 years (0-7-1). The Ducks have a more balanced offence and haven't lost 2 in a row at home since 1997.

6)Kentucky(+5)
Georgia has not been impressive away from home this year winning by just 2 points and 6 points in their only 2 road games. Everyone knows about their key injuries and this also could be a look-ahead situation to their meeting with Florida next week. Kentucky is a very underrated 5-2 team with the two losses by a total of just 11 points.

7)Ohio State(-4.5)
Wow, 2 favourites on the same day for me..........The Buckeyes simply are a different team at home, going 5-0 by an average score of 43.2 to 13.8. Penn State is 5-2 but some of those wins seem less impressive now than they did at the time of the win, due to down-grading of those defeated opponents, such as Nebraska, as the season wears on.

8)Iowa State(+13)
This Iowa State team is not as bad as they were made out to be by the mighty Oklahoma Sooners last week. In fact, I think that blowout has influenced this line by about 4-5 points as I had this one figured to be about a 7 point line. And let's not forget that this Texas defence is not anywhere close to Oklahoma..........they have given up an average of 21.3 pts/gm in league play, a key stat considering they are favoured by 13.

1-3 in the early finals losing a heartbreaker with Western Michigan losing by 4.

Two More
--------------------

9)San Diego State(-3)
The better team and they are at home. No comparison at QB where the TD/INT ratio is 13-6 for SDSt and 5-7 for UNLV.

10)Tenessee(-1.5)
Alabama has lost 7 in a row to Tennessee and the Vols come into this one with an extra week to prepare. They also get Cedric Houston back from injury.

Good luck.
