Kansas State has a high number at 8.5 considering they play Auburn out of conference and run the Big 12 gauntlet playing every team. They have Baylor and OU on the road plus games against Texas & Oklahoma State will be brutal. Wins over KU, WVU, TCU, and Iowa State seem likely, but TT so I see 7 or 8 wins likely.

Missouri Under 9.5 looks golden. DGB kicked off team (probably a top 5 pick if he had a brain next year) and they lost a bunch. Their QB Mauk is decent, but still only completed about 50% of his passes. These guys aren't sneaking up on anyone this year plus lost a lot defensively and Josey was a tough RB who will be tough to replace. Have to review some teams schedules otherwise.

They have Indiana & UCF at home plus Toledo on the road out of conference so could see a loss here. Also, have Florida on the road, I believe Georgia at home. Anyway, if I know Pinkel, this team won't win 10 regular season games.

Unless they have really stockpiled talent that does seem high for Missouri; I think they lost several 5th year seniors. Four probable conference wins; Vandy, Kentucky, Arkansas (at Home), and Tennessee on the road; they might even slip up and lose one of these, more likely to Tennessee. They should lose to S Carolina, Georgia, Florida; I'd say the game at A&M is a toss up? They just lost too much but I get surprised all the time.

If things didn't go right for them they could easily go 4-4 in conference.

Great points Destructor & Cruncher. I agree on K State with tough schedule as well as Mizzou, Mizzou played well over their heads last year.

I love MSU over 7.5 wins. They will win all 4 non-conference games. Should beat UK, Vandy, and Arky. I think they win at least 1 against Aub, LSU, Bama, A&M, or OM.

If Kentucky can win one conference game they should be able to go over the 3.5 as they should handle their OOC schedule of Tennessee-Martin, Ohio, and Louisiana Monroe. The 160 is a little steep but that tells me the OM may be thinking the same thing.

Home conference schedule:
Vanderbilt
South Carolina
Mississippi St
Georgia

Away conference schedule:
Florida
LSU
Missouri
Tennessee

They will be a dog against all with the possible exception of Vanderbilt; but looking over their schedule they will be in some good psychological spots; and even though it may not make any difference as far as SU wins go, it may make a difference ATS wise.

They catch Florida right before the Gators play Alabama; LSU after they play Florida and right before they play Ole Miss; Missouri right before they play Texas A&M; Tennessee in between South Carolina and Missouri; Mississippi St between Auburn and Arkansas; and Georgia in between Auburn and Georgia Tech. None of this may make any difference but it could. What it really tells me is that their opponents know how to schedule; I mean, if you have to play a conference opponent in a ?tough spot?, why shouldn?t it be Kentucky?

Homer aside, if they can get good QB play and adequately replace the gut of the defense (2 DT?s and middle LB), they should be significantly improved. Four OL starters return, receivers will be significantly upgraded, and although their not showing any returner starters at RB, this potentially could be the best group of RBs they have had in a long time. They should be able to keep the defense off the field better this year.

Auburn schedule breakdown:

arkansas - blowout
SJSt - blowout
@ KState - blowout
Latech - blowout
LSU - in Auburn. vs new QB. no WRs. 14pt win
@ MSU - 3rd toughest game of the year. 10pt win
USC - not saying it's gonna be a blowout, but we will put up 40+
@ OMiss - 4th toughest game on schedule. 21 pt win
TAM - rebuilding. blowout
@ UGA - new QB. same mediocre defense without Matthews. will be a close game
Samford - blowout
@ Bama - Ballgame as usual

Our offense should be pretty scary this year. Duke Williams will be a well known player by the LSU game. He is a Roy Williams type WR. Great compliment to Sammie the beast Coates on the other side. Add to that this is the 1st time in his coaching career Malzahn isn't breaking in a new QB to his system. Everyone saw how dangerous the O was after Marshall had a few weeks to get acclimated. Now he's had over a year.

Defense is going to miss Lawson (injury) and Ford (draft) at DE. But we've got 4 rotating that have all played a lot of snaps in the last 2 years. We also never have to see #5 jake holland in an AU jersey again, this is the best example of addition by subtraction in the modern era of sports. We finally have some strong, mean ass, bull-nosed linebackers on defense again. praise jesus. And we return everyone except Chris "Pass interference" Davis in the secondary... yes i know he won like 8 espys. kick returning one field goal didn't change the fact that he was a mediocre, at best, corner.

one of the biggest losses on the team is actually our Kicker, Cody Parkey, who has been nearly automatic in big game situations. Our new kicker won the golden boot or some shit in highschool so we'll see how he does.

I'm not the least bit worried about any games on our schedule outside of Bama and UGA. By then our offense will be a well oiled machine, we're just hoping we don't have anymore injuries.

AU Over 9.5 has a lot of value

I like your confidence and with all due respect , im not sure there's a ton of value betting over..auburn will be underdogs at Alabama and ga , so you are asking auburn to go to kst om msu and take on sc and lsu at home with no slip ups?

Not really... I think we beat UGA and Bama. I think Bama has a down year (10-2 kinda down year not like a 7-5 kinda down) because of what they lost on D and that there's not a QB on the roster + Lane Kiffen is the OC and he's a joke. UGA will be a more difficult game depending on if their QB is worth something.

I don't think anyone in the SEC is worried about OMiss. SCar is gonna be decent this year? That is news to me. LSU is always a tough game but they lost a lot on both sides of the ball and Run D will be our strength this year which bodes well against them. @ Kstate is actually the only game I could see us slipping up against.

Your post implied the assumption that we would lose to Bama and UGA. I think that's slim to no chance whatsoever. But it's football and that's why they play the games. I think Auburn O9.5 is a steal
