blackman...

question....you may be on the right side but why do you like col. st ?

good luck

Thanks Al.

Traditionally this game has been very close, and the last 6 meetings have been decided by 7 or less. The Rams have always been a team with a ton of fight, and rarely get blown out, and this is one the cases where I think the new coaching staff is a breath of fresh air and will bolster the team.

While they were fiesty, they had some very glaring weakness (were 105th in the nation in sacks allowed and 103rd in tackles for loss and 107th in run defense). Coach Fairchild has said all the right things and is stressing the obvious importance of improved line play.

All in all I expect Colorado State to be an improved team and continue to be a toughnosed team that will compete every week. Double digits in this type of rivalry always makes sense in my opinion.

BM,
Good luck this season. I appreciate your posts. Looks like we might be head to head to start the season. Leaning the Buff way and already on the deamons. Do you think Baylor has the players to run the houston spread?

Cheers

Afraid this is becoming a bit of a public dog but again I'm liking the home team getting points. Cardinal are on the upswing while Oregon State has the look of a team that needs to reload.

Tons of good posts and good people on board with this one, hopefully everyone is happy tomorrow night.

Not a popular pick but based on line movement alone I think it's a smart one.

Michigan -3.

Expect a close game, and I actually think Utah is a very talented and well balanced team, but I view this as a trendy underdog pick and the line movement indicates people are expecting Michigan to repeat last years opening day distaster. Call it a gut play I guess.

Appy State +27.....Had a lean here all week and decided to pull the trigger with the time change. While no longer under the radar, this Appy St. team is very fiesty and will play hard from the gun. You're getting some extra points here since they are a 1-AA team, but in reality Appy would hold their own in a few of the mid major conferences and make a run a winning some of the lower level championships.

With the weather on its way and the gametime being moved up, my impression is this game may just be played with a "let's get the hell out of here" mindset from all involved. Expect a vanilla offensive scheme from LSU which will just smash Appy at the line of scrimmage.

I expect Appy to find a way to score 10-14 points due to their athletic talent and aggressive style. Will LSU be determined enough to score 38 or more? I doubt it under these circumstances.
