BTW, i'd personally like to thank the North Texas Mean Green for their solid defense on the road...because without them, i'd still be in that HUGE hole.....
i can honestly say, they've made me about +12 units over the last few weeks.....

keep up the D....!!!

Furthermore, for you N.Texas under lovers, be careful as strange things seem to happen when N.Tex plays at home....games have a tendancy to go OVER the total....which is why i played the UNDER 20 in the first half of the game vs U Louisiana-Monroe Indians....;)

N.TEX's next game.....against those bee-atch prostitutes who call themselves " I, da hoe!!!" yet, they're Vandals....???

be careful of the under in this one...may i suggest a little on the under in the FIRST HALF.

good luck to everyone this week.

"...Quo fas et gloria ducunt..."
EARLY LEAN:

N. TEXAS UNDER 1st half ( whatever number ) for 3 units.

cut and paste analysis:

Its no secret that the key to the Mean Green's success is its ferocious defense. North Texas enters play this week ranked 10th in country in allowing only 277.1 ypg to its opponents, as the club is solid against both the pass and run. Foes have thrown for a mere 156.6 ypg against the Mean Green, while totaling just 120.6 ypg on the ground. Last week was more of the same, as UL- Monroe finished with just 181 yards in the contest. The Indians could muster only 62 yards rushing, while their 37 pass attempts resulted in only 119 yards passing. Linebacker Casey Taylor led all tacklers with 10 stops, as North Texas did not allow any offensive points for the second straight game. Taylor also paces the club in tackles on the season with 80, while defensive tackle Brandon Kennedy has seven of the Mean Green's 30 sacks on the year. Cornerback Don McGee tops the unit with three interceptions. North Texas ranks seventh in the nation in scoring defense, as it allows only 14 ppg, for the school's lowest figure since 1983.

The Mean Green defense is even stronger this season than last year, when the club took the Sun Belt crown and played in the New Orleans Bowl. Idaho has improved over last year, but head coach Tom Cable still has some work to do to move to the top of the league standings. The only thing that could stop North Texas in this one is if the club glances ahead on its schedule at its upcoming date next week with New Mexico State, which is shaping up to be a conference title game. Dickey won't let that happen, as the Mean Green takes care of business in Denton and cruise to a satisfying win.

4) W.Virginia - 3.5 over B.C ( 2 U)

Defensively, the Eagles put forth a phenomenal effort against a Notre Dame offense that has not played well this season. The Fighting Irish racked up 22 first downs and 357 total yards in the contest, but Boston College was able to come out on top thanks to five big takeaways. The biggest play of the game came in the second quarter, when Josh Ott intercepted a pass and returned it 71 yards for a touchdown. Ott's score prove to be the game winner, and the fact that the Eagles allowed Notre Dame to score just once on six trips into the red zone is shocking. So far this season, opponents are scoring 19.5 ppg and gaining 343 ypg of total offense against Boston College. The Eagles have been a bit shaky against the run, allowing 176.2 ypg on 4.1 ypc on the ground. Against the pass, they have allowed seven touchdown passes and recorded seven picks. The 19 turnovers that the defense has recorded is a major reason that the squad has won five of its eight games overall. Ott currently leads the defense with 73 total tackles, and Doug Bessette tops the squad with eight TFLs.

Boston College benefited tremendously last week from Notre Dame's carelessness with the football. Don't expect the Mountaineers to be so generous, as Cobourne and company will protect the ball at all times. The Eagles may hang around all game, but expect West Virginia to come out on top at home.

5) Tcu -13 Tulane ( 3 U)

TCU has won seven games this season mostly thanks to the fourth ranked defense in the country. The Frogs' pass defense ranks 34th, but the key to their defense is stopping the run. Teams average just 69.9 ypg against TCU on the ground and are ranked third in the country in that category. Led by All- American candidate LaMarcus McDonald at linebacker, TCU has allowed only 158 points to be scored against them the whole season. McDonald earned C-USA's Defensive Player of the Week honor against Southern Miss, with an amazing defensive performance of 16 tackles, four sacks and six TFLs. McDonald has been the team's leading tackler in seven of the eight games this season. He has recorded 88 tackles, with 22 TFLs and seven sacks. Junior defensive end Bo Schobel is second on the team with six sacks and has 42 tackles, with 10 TFLs. Senior cornerback Jason Goss leads the secondary with five interceptions and 10 PBUs.

Look for TCU to dominate this game from the get go. Tulane will find that running the ball against McDonald and this defense is an absolute nightmare. They will be forced into turnovers and mistakes early and often by a smothering defense. Hobbs should be able to notch his third straight 100-yard performance. The Green Wave have not been able to win a game away from the Superdome this year and will wish they had stayed there this weekend, as TCU adds to its impressive season with another convincing victory.

6) Notre Dame -28.5 ( 1U)

it hurt to watch N.D play the way they did last week against B.C.
They did NOT play the style that we were used to seeing all season long from them....

Taking one look at the defensive numbers for Navy and it isn't hard to see why the team has failed to win more than one game thus far. The Midshipmen are allowing a generous 40.8 points per game in 2002, getting especially abused by opposing rushing attacks. Foes are netting a healthy 4.8 yards per carry and 233.6 yards per game. The Middies must shore things up this week, or Notre Dame will run all over them. Not exactly a big play unit, the Navy defense has collected just 11 sacks and 12 turnovers in the first eight games. Sophomore safety Josh Smith has been everywhere on the field for Navy thus far, leading the team in tackles (86). He also has one interception and one fumble recovery on the year. Sophomore linebacker Dustin Elliot (24 tackles) paces the squad in plays behind the line of scrimmage, with six TFLs and two sacks. Senior defensive end Pete Beuttenmuller (16 tackles) leads the team with three sacks.

The longest-ever win streak against one opponent will surely reach 39 games, as Notre Dame certainly won't be looking past the Midshipmen. Even if the Irish forget to bring their "A" game, there "B" or even "C" game should be enough to comfortably beat Navy.
