Terrible Road Team/Great Home Team just got shelled on National TV on the road. Now coming home against a high-scoring team which people love to bet on.

Florida State -9.5 10 units

The defense was supposed to be strong this year. The offense would be changing to a west-coast offense and that would be the side of the ball that Notre Dame would struggle on because they did not have the personnel to function in that type of offense. Those were the concerns coming into the season and nothing that Notre Dame has done this season has alleviated those concerns. Their record is impressive, but the substance behind those wins is not a foundation for future success.

Can the Irish offense move the ball consistently and keep pace in an uptempo game in which their defense will not be dominant?

Can the Irish defensive backfield continue to provide dominant rush help when Florida State has so much talent at the wide outs when they have matched up against one great receiver all year?

Can the defensive backfield stay with their men when Rix's running ability will be able to buy his receivers time downfield?

Can the Irish keep their focus in a hostile enviroment when their only two road venues have been Spartan Stadium and Air Force, hardly enviroments where Notre Dame didn't have their followers out in full force? This is Tallahassee.

With all the talk about Willingham turning this program around, let's remember that Notre Dame is only two year's removed from a BCS bowl. That team put Nebraska into overtime and was 9-2 going into a bowl game with Oregon State. They also used turnovers to play over their heads, but instead of creating takeaways, they limited giveaways. But when they played the superior athletes (and now the convicted felons) of that Oregon State, they got crushed because ND's quarterback was asked to do things to get the Irish back into a game that he was not asked to do all year. And we're only one year removed from a opportunistic Maryland team heading into Tallahassee to take on a down Florida State program. Florida State by 20+

Parlay Notre Dame +400 with the under 46
1.5 units to win 14.32 units

But, as I have been wrong this season more than I've been right, I do have some concerns in the Florida State's coaching staff's ability to make decisions and have been nothing but impressed with Notre Dame. If this game is close, it will be because of the Irish defense as there is no way the Irish wins in a shootout. If the game is close at the end, Notre Dame will win outright.

Indiana +9 4 units

Ron Turner continually leaves his players unprepared when they start a game and that usually leaves them behind in the opening period. It didn't matter last year as Kittner would bring the Illini back, but this year, they've haven't had the ability to come back. Illinois got all of the breaks against Purdue and the Hoosiers got none of the breaks against Iowa. Expect things to get back to normal and the Hoosiers to be more motivated to get the wins necessary to get a bowl bid. Illinois just looks like a team about to quit.

Welcome to the forum Bromo

NIU -2.5 4 units

Think that the oddsmakers were impressed with the WMU effort against BG last week. I think it had to do more with BG's lack of depth and injuries than anything that WMU has. NIU rolling.

KSU -31 3 units

Snyder's a dick

1 unit parlay to win 13

Duke +13.5
Pitt -4
Michigan -3.5
UNC +6.5

Michigan???? WTF is THAT about......;)  (think its the right side....LOL)

My biggest play of the day is Indiana +9-- grabbed a couple of units on the ML, too. Any team that is dumb enough to have Jon Beutjer on it is an automatic go-against in my book.

Also, after the game last week, the Iowa players were full of complements for the Indiana players and coaching staff. They said they were playing hard and playing as a TEAM-- something Illinois has not done all year. Indiana has only 60+ guys on the scholarship and 40+ are freshmen or sophmores- with many of the feshmen being true freshman.

Watch out for this team in the next few years if DiNardo sticks around and he can get the numbers he needs.....

I only parlay the games that I like but not enough to wager. Don't want to throw away real money :)

I'm meeting a ton of Iowa alums after the game at an Iowa-friendly bar on the North Side after the game, so it will be alot more fun if the Hawkeyes do win. Would head there now, if I thought there was a chance the ND game would be on on one of the small TVs. So, I won't be devastated if the Hawkeyes do win, but I will be surprised.
