Like WVU as well, would like to see them start off well and give Cuse their total effort. I am banking on being home for WVU to inspire them and get them to fire from opening kick.

Good luck
Cheers

CALIFORNIA vs. WASHINGTON STATE ? Saturday, October 14th - 5:00 PM EST
Washington State has a very balanced offense as shown by their statistics of having run the ball 219 times and with 209 passing plays so far this season. That kind of consistency has paid off as the Cougars have only lost to Auburn and USC but their four wins have come about as a result of relatively unimpressive play from their offense and it has in fact been their defensive play that have kept them ahead in close games with Baylor and Oregon State. Realistically, the Cougars will have to play stellar defense again this week if they are to have any chance of hanging with a red-hot California team.

The Bears have not looked anything like the team that got pushed around by Tennessee in their opener as they have rattled off over 40 points in each of their five games since. This offense is ranked #5 in the nation and QB Nate Longshore is playing like a machine having passed for 1,410 yards and 17 touchdowns in six games. Wazzu has a nice defense but if the Cal offensive line can continue to give him time in the pocket, Longshore should be able to shred a Cougar secondary which is giving up 220 yards per game. This Cal team is playing great football and I am not about to pick this game as the one where they cool off.
The Verdict: CALIFORNIA (-8?) 4 Units

UTAH STATE vs. SAN JOSE STATE ? Saturday, October 14 ? 6:00 PM EST
San Jose State is a team that remains off of most gambler?s radar but in my opinion, they are a very underrated team that is improving with each week under 2nd year HC Dick Tomey and a win today will give the Spartans a 4-1 record for the first time since the 80?s. This game is tailor made for the team to reach that goal as SJSU is coming off of their second bye week of the season and are facing the Utah State Aggies who are one of the worst football teams in the country.

The Aggie defense is ranked #104 in the NCAA as a result of allowing nearly 33 points per game. Their pitiful offense was able to score just 7 points on Wyoming and then went on to be held scoreless in games with Arkansas, BYU and Utah. Overall this team is averaging less than 7 points per game and their only win came last week against a depleted Fresno team which is on a four game losing streak.

In contrast, San Jose State is putting up almost 400 yards per game and is on a three game winning streak. This team has found a spark in QB Adam Trafalis who is completing an unbelievable 77% of his passes this season. The Spartans have also been very opportunistic with a 19-7 advantage in turnovers their last five games having taken the ball away at least three times in each of those games.
The Verdict: SAN JOSE STATE (-16?) 4 Units
