cie been lookin hard at lsu/auburn. cant figure out why the heck the line is a TD fav. prolly just going to lay off this game and watch a great game. good luck man:toast:
Probably a good idea, sir. Very tough game for me to cap. Not b/c I am an LSU season-ticket holder, but rather b/c there are so many unknowns. Aub has not faced this type of D, while LSU has not faced anything like Aub's O.
I played LSU b/c it fits my system, which has hit at roughly 55% for posted plays at this forum in the past 5 years, but I do not feel great about the play because LSU O, although improved since new QB rotation was implemented 3 games ago, remains ugly to watch and LSU does not field a championship level OL, especially with Blackwell out of the year as of the 1st play of the season. Silly deadball OL penalties, unforced turnovers, drops (which I attribute to poor offensive flow) by all three 5* WRs and missed blitz pick-ups by RBs happen every game. Even though Aub's defensive numbers are poor, and their secondary is clearly exploitable, Aub D has played well in the 4Q (this is not statisticaly based, but my opinion having watched parts of 4 Aub games this season). I have already mentioned this, but feel it is worth repeating that Aub's offensive pace hurts their defensive numbers.
Perception in national media is that Aub will roll. Aub has played close games, but receive praise for those wins (Miss St, clem, kentucky, SC) while LSU played close games and was slaughtered by public/media for it. Is perception so heavy towards Aub because Miles comes off as dumb(of course, he is an econ grad from Mich who makes 4 million annually coaching football so dumb he is not), or is it b/c LSU is a defensive-led squad, which is generally less sexy (albeit often more successful) than an offensive powerhouse like Auburn? Not sure, but as a capper on the dog, I like that the perception is skewed towards Auburn.
IMO, some of the pros for LSU are a fast D with good corners and ability to rush passer with 4, better talent in the 2 deep, Miles' outstanding record vs ranked foes( particularly on the road), Aub's recent schedule, LSU's recent success vs Auburn, improved offensive play now that Lee is again involved, and lastly LSU's us against the world mentality vs. Aub being told they are the cat's ass by all.
IMO, some of the pros for Aub are a vast talent gap at QB, stronger OL, triple revenge factor(including being killed last year 31-7), O getting better as season progresses, outstanding physical conditioning(possibly Aub plays better in 4Q, while LSU has played worse late in games).
I like it 24-20 either way. We'll see how it works out:toast:
