For some reason they love him there...he is from there and he had a big run in while at Clemson with Dean Smith which made them all like him more....
I think Barnes is a decent coach, but I don't understand the love-fest Wolfpackers have with this guy. I hope he does go to State, b/c I can't stand him.
State fans want to beat UNC. Which is good. But thats pretty much all they want. They also seem to have a love-fest with Duke. Most State fans I know seem to like Duke as their adopted 2nd favorite team. I guess its b/c Duke can compete with Carolina. They don't seem to see the big picture, which in basketball means finishing top 3 in your conference and getting to the sweet 16.
I consider myself an "ACC guy", b/c I am a Carolina fan and I watch a lot of ACC sports. I live in the area. You know who I like in the ACC? Carolina. You know who else I kind of like in the ACC? NO ONE. I hate the rest of those teams trying to stand in the way of my Heels.
I felt like Grandpa Simpson rambling there, but yeah, bring Barnes back to the ACC. Roy can finish Dean's work.

I hope we get Barnes. But I heard that it was going to be Bobby Lutz from UNCC. I hope that rumor is incorrect.
In reality, I do not care who we get, as long as their offensive mind scheme is faster than a snails pace. Herb like the slow game and it was hard to watch. I usually turned the channel after about 15 minutes to take a break from the paint drying.

Latest is that NCState insiders are denying an offer has been made "yet" - my guess is they dont want to officially offer that kind of jack unless they "know" he will say yes...the guy i know inside the Texas AD says he thinks Barnes will stay...

I have heard that as a distinct possibility but not as a done deal. There has been more talk about Turgeon or Haith, but I think OU feels it has to get a big name.

The only solice that I can take in Roy leaving was the fact that my first year on campus was Self's first year as well... so I really can't lament the loss, just because I felt like I was "starting" with Self here.
Self is a better recruiter than Roy... and that is it. He has nothing else. If they choke next year, I will be leading the charge to get him out of here... I dont think that will happen though... :mj09:
Sorry Jayhawk....just giving you a hard time. LOL. I think Self is better than most people give him credit for. I actually had Kansas in my final 4, they were playing good ball.
But, yeah, he's no Roy.
