What I want to know is why is ND getting the automatic at large...Once again the media is favoring ND...If the Fiesta takes ND first then most likely they will see the Bucks if the Fiesta takes Penn St then ND goes to the Orange...why...yeah they played USC tough at home but come on they loss to MSU...Which OSU beat and OSU's two losses came from two top three teams...if anything OSU should be getting the first at large over ND...Honestly who has the Irish beat...Mich, OSU beat them also, Tenn well their a down team this year...Its fraud they haven't beat anyone...and you know who's getting screwed in all this is Auburn (once again) they have way more creditable wins then the Irish...I am sick and tired of ND getting special treatment and another thing join a ****ing conference already maybe that will help the Irish's lame schedule Navy Syracuse Wash BYU Pitts give me a break...ND is fraud there are other teams that are more deserving of the at large instead of the Irish...Isn't a top ranking in next years polls enough...no instead they have to screw another team out of a BCS that belongs there more so than the Irish...Fraud I say...I am sure this going to make all you stubborn ND fans pissed but its simple look at the wins and losses

As long as there is an argument, Notre Dame will always get the nod because of their huge fan base. Like it or not, college sports are driven by money, especially football. It is political nonsense, don't blame ND, blame the system...

who cares who is chosen first or second in the bcs...there are only 2 at large teams and barring some major changes they will be ohio state and nd

and no...nd is not a fraud they are one of the 5 best teams and better than a few 1 loss teams like oregon, ucla, (and that included miami and alabama before those frauds got exposed last weekend)

its gonna be nd vs psu or osu in the fiesta bowl

You can make vaild points for either OSU going or ND (as well as a few other teams). ND lost at the last second to the number #1 in the country. They lost to MSU in overtime, and the beat Michigan in Ann arbor. It is not their fault that Tenn blows this years.

OSU was getting dominated by MSU until their halftime debacle. OSU also beat UM in michigan. I would say ND's win was more impressive. OSU took the other #1 team in the country down to the wire

As with anything, it all comes down to money. I do not know how well OSU travels, but I do know that ND travels well... very well. I would bet that ND brings in a lot more money to the NCAA then OSU... hell, they have thier own network for football games. right or wrong the money will always be a determinig factor

OSU and ND could be the two best traveling teams in the country but shouldn't that lost to MSU count a strike against ND...And your right its not their fault it is the system and I do agree they are very good football but not every good football team should get a pass because of one they shouldn't have loss...there are just other teams that more are deserving because of more creditable wins and losses

Whatever!

BCS is about money and ratings that is why ND will be selected. They will fill the seats and be one of the most watched bowls of the season.

There is still a chance they might not go. If they're not choosen they have only themselves to blame. But why critize ND you should take it up with the committee.

HELL
At this stage in the game it is a popularity contest and ND will win a BCS bid every time because of their following. Enough said. It is all about the "benjamins".

Not sure i would call them a fraud. I question their ranking, but they have had a fine year. I dont think they would beat Ohio State but I guess we may find out. I am not sure they beat a 2 loss Auburn. heck, based on teh arguments for ND one could actually say Fresno should go. If UCLA somehoe beats USC it all becomes a real mess.

But in the end it is about the cash and ND trumps every time. But they had better come to play Saturday. I think taking the points may be the way to go.

2 points made in your thread:

1) The BCS is flawed

2) Ohio State already had their chance to beat 2 of the top 4 teams and failed on both tries.

I would put OSU #1 at-large because both of their losses were to top 3 teams, and they could've easily won both games had they caught a break here or there. Auburn obviously would be my #2, but I can understand us being left out because of the terrible start against Ga Tech. I don't think anybody in leprechaun green, or nike duck green wants to see Auburn or Ohio State on the other side of the field. Both Auburn and OSU are playing as well as anybody right now, but it looks like they will be facing off in the Captial One Bowl against each other.

If that happens, I bet the Capital One will get better ratings than the Fiesta.

Notre Dame's best player = NBC

Oct 12th 1957
Black nites lead 23-7 with 17 minuts to play.Earl "red" Blaik takes his starters out for some rest.ND comes back and wins it on a FG in the last minut by ND's Sticlles.Monty Stickles who grew up 25 miles from the Point was turned down by WP because of bad eye sight. But his sight was fine nailing that FG right down the middle.

AU2001 - You're are truly an idiot. I think B. Quinn is a better pro prospect than anybody Auburn has...

Kenny Irons and Auburns offensive line could be considered pretty good prospects but then again who cares
