You know, its funny. . . Notre Dame playing the way they have and unbeaten against all of the teams they have played while Air Force hasn't played nearly the same schedule.

Smells like Vegas is setting the trap of the year for Notre Dame followers/backers. . . those on Air Force should sit back and take this game when it hits a PK.

Air Force wins this game IMO. These guys are the best team a lot of people don't lnow much about. Harridge at QB is a stud and a competitor and their wishbone/option looks very tough to stop. I don't think ND scores enough points to win this game.

Taking Air Force in this one. Haven't seen a whole lot of offense from the Irish. ND will get a serious dose of the option like they haven't seen in a long time. This AF team may run the option better than any Nebraska team ever did. AF QB is a stud, home field, possibly cold, high altitude, all favors the Falcons. Just my opinion.

Good Luck.

I don't know about dominating Air Force but ND will win this game so getting 3 points is just fine with me. Take a look at special teams first. AF had 80yds. total in KR & PR as their largest return totals for the year. On the other hand, ND has one of the best returners in the nation in Duff. ND has a huge advantage on special teams.
AF has a defense ranked #43 in the nation whereas ND has a defense ranked #2. AF has struggled against decent teams this year. They beat Cal by 2pts., won at Utah by 4pts. and won at New Mexico by 7pts. in OT. They beat up on BYU, Northwestern & Navy. Now their potent offense finally goes up against real athletes and all of sudden the AF offense finds out what it is like to play a team with great speed and team commitment. Outside of the NW game QB harridge has only completed 6 passes in a game as his largest total. He averages about 12-14 passes a game. If anyone has seen the type of ball he throws he is bound to get picked at least twice by ND defense.
Sure everyone says ND has a weak offense but they have played solid defensive teams all year. Michigan, Purdue, Pitt, Maryland as well as Mich St. & Stanford(well they were a poor team) Now all of sudden ND gets to go against a defense that is 43rd in the nation and that was against patsies. What if they played the same opponents as ND, you can't tell me that they would not be ranked at least #75 on defense. All of this adds up to ND winning a game that so many people think AF wins by a TD or more. Look inside the box scores and you might be surprised what you walk away realizing. ND has the better athletes and it will show tomorrow night.

My pick - ND by 4pts.

I'm with you on ND, everyone has bashed them all year. This forum has overwhelmingly gone against ND against Maryland and MIch in particular and now everyone loves AF. ND is 6-0 straight up and ATS, I"ll gladly take the 3:D

AF has struggled against decent teams this year.

Who have they struggled against? Against Cal and Utah, they were dogs by 9 and 8 points respectively and won both games on the ROAD. Meanwhile, ND got lucky to beat a crappy Mich. St. squad, a team that California annihilated.

I've seen ND play about 3 times this year and they're pretty fortunate to be undefeated this year. I finally got a chance to watch Air Force last week and I was thoroughly impressed. They absolutely crushed BYU. They run the option to perfection, rarely make mistakes, and even completed passes when they had to. Night Game on ESPN at home is what makes this game for Air Force. I see AFA winning by 10 or so.

Anyway, just my 2 cents. GL to you.

I THNK THIS WILL BE A BETTER GAME THAN MOST THINK--AIR FORCE NEVER NEVER GIVES UP--I SEE TWO THINGS--AIR FORCE HAS THE BETTER OFFENSE AND NORTE DAME THE BETTER DEFENSE BUT NOT BY AS MUCH AS EVERYONE THINKS--I THINK AIR FORCE CAN STOP ND EARLY AND I THINK AIR FORCE CAN SCORE ON NORTE DAME--I AM PASSING ON THE GAME AND WILL WATCH IT--IF I HAD TO BET--THE OVER--THE LONGER ND LETS AIR FORCE HANG THE BETTER THE ODDS FOR AIR FORCE TO WIN--AIR FORCE HAS THE BEST QB I HAVE SEEN THEIR PROGRAM HAVE IN ALONG TIME YES EVEN BETTER THAN D DOWIS--WEATHER FORECAST-PERFECT FOR A FOOTBALL GAME

Love the avatar, Monk.

ND has trouble ATS against the spread against the Academys because they're always let down games. But not this year as both teams are 6-0 and this is the feature game of the weekend. ND has the bigger, faster team and will dominate the lines. AFA is great when their discipline and lack of mistakes wins games, but this time, they will have to have the better talent. Don't see this one being close.

Trouble against MSU?? ND controlled the game until the Holliday went down and an unprepared QB was asked to go into the game.

Love the Irish in this spot.

to me, no team ranked#113 out of a possible #117 in total offense Division 1A SCHOOLS HAS ANY right being ranked in the top 10. Irish finally have 2 travel, they don't get AF at home. I'm sure they thought AF would be a easy road victory when they took this game. If Irish win here, they earned respect. Plain & simple.

Good luck

tuff game but ...

tuff game but ...

I really respect both teams and coaches, love the option and have to appreciate NDs grit, pluck, luck whatever ya wanna call it ...

I have to side with ND with my "Big TV Win game theory" ... bet against whomever played and looked great on national TV the next time out ...

that would be AF spindling the Mormoms

I look for that also PT1gard, AF looked like world beaters last week. I personally like airforce and it is true, these guys will NOT give up until the game is over. The fact that ND is getting the 3 points is too hard to pass up. I think they are better on both sides of the ball and Having run the option themselves for so many years, I think they are somewhat familiar with it. They also play AF just about every other year so they should be able to contain somewhat. Last time ND was in Colorado they won 44-14 in 95 not that that means anything this year. I can't wait for this game, the wife and kids will be in bed already and I can watch this undisturbed for a change. Go Irish!:toast: :Yep:

Bobby,

Respectfully disagree. Did we watch the same game? BTW, I never said ND had "trouble" with MSU...I said they were lucky to get out of their with a win. MSU actually had more first downs and total yardage than ND but costly turnovers and penalties is what did them in, even though they were right in it until the end.

And c'mon, Holiday going down was a blessing for you guys. He was 5-17 with 84 yards in 3 quarters! Dillingham equaled that amount in only 1.

I've won some money off ND a few times this year but they come back down to reality after this weekend.

i find it interesting that everyone seems to think the money will be on ND in this game...the line has already moved against that theory and has stuck at 3 since monday...now we may see the line come down again on sat...and that theory may be correct...but i said this earlier in the week and ill say it again...i have a lot of friends that are NFL bettors and casual NCAA bettors...they just bet on sundays...and a majority of them all of a sudden like air force this weekend... at the beginning of the season they couldnt name a player for air force...now they know the qb's name ..and "BAM" air force is the play...say what you want about NOTRE DAME's competition but at the beginning of the year everyone was saying they didnt give themselves a chance to turn it around because thier schedule is so "tough"...now thier schedule is light???..granted some of the teams they played are not as good as many thought they would be...but

maryland/purdue/michigan/@mich st/stanf/pitt is a hell of a lot more difficult than

northwestern/new mex/cal/utah/navy/byu....

which defense have they played that could even be mentioned in the same breath with ND's ?????...utah's defense is decent and if a i remember correctly utah was actually winning that game pretty handily until they committed six turnovers...ND does not play an elaborate offense but they wont turn the ball over either...

it will be interesting to see where the money goes on sat..im not totally convinced that the line will drop substantially...air force right now is a more popular play than most people think...just my opinion...and any discussion about games always helps no matter what side people choose....good luck ...cooz

...now thier schedule is light???

Who ever said ANYTHING about ND's schedule being light? Let's try to stick with verbatim here guys. Some of you are starting to get a little too defensive in this discussion.

cooz, I'll give you that ND has faced better D's but it's not like they have faced any Offensive juggernauts either. AFA did a pretty good job of keeping Cal and BYU's Offense in check.

For the record, ND does not have the #2 Defense in the nation. They are #17 in Total Defense while AFA is #17.

FM,

I respect your opinion and I forgot to say they are No.2 against the run but they are #11 in total defense. AF is not # 17, sorry. Besides you said they are both #17 so who is it? Better team speed and better athletes most often win big games. Ask Maryland from last year when they got steamrolled by Florida. All the best with your plays this weekend. Enjoy your info on all sports. You definitely are not a one trick pony as some are in the forum. Take care.

VEGAS
NEXT WEEKS GAMES;

N.D. @ FLA.ST. on ABC 9:00am PT

A.F. @ WYO. 1:00 pm PT

A.F. opened - 1.5 and has been bet up to - 3.
A.F. is the more balanced team. These are 2 pretty good defenses.N.D. is familiar with the option as they ran it prior to this year.
Look to see where the # settles in and play the dog.
