New England's 16 opponents went a combined 130-126 (counting each divisional opponent twice, as they played them all twice). Not exactly murderers row. New England only left their time zone twice all year...trips to KC and Denver. They never had to go to the opposite coast.
San Diego by comparison had opponents who went a combined 30 games over .500, 143-113. Four of their road games were in the eastern time zone...a fifth was in Indianapolis. And despite a MUCH tougher schedule, they still managed to win more games than they lost.
Jacksonville's opponents? They went 119-137.
