As a Royals fan, I have to wonder what would have been if the team ERA leader, Danny Duffy, had started Game 1 instead of pitching in relief for the first time since the first Divisional game. I know that Shields has been the team's #1 starter all year, but he really has pitched poorly this entire postseason. I wonder if Ned the Head ever even considered starting Duffy? What kind of a manager doesn't give one start in the postseason to the starter who lead his team in ERA? The boneheaded kind. :nono:

Yost is in a bad spot in this series due to the fact that the opposing manager, Bochy, is probably one of the best situational managers this game has ever seen.

Hash, I check your plays out a lot... Good luck!

Yes, there couldn't be a bigger disparity in managers than there is between these two. Bochy is the best in baseball IMO. Yost is in the hunt for the worst. The Royals would have won 100 games with a manager who had a clue. I love how all the idiot broadcasters have gone on and on all postseason about the "Royals style." Stealing bases, bunting runners over and playing small ball was not the Royals style. It should have been with their team speed and lack of big bats, but Yost is a manager who regularly sat on his hands until it was too late all season.

I give him credit for being better in the postseason, but he hasn't been faced with a lot of difficult decisions due to the hot streak. It will most likely be a farce as we watch him pull all the wrong strings now that the team is facing adversity for the first time since the Wild Card game. His latest blunder: leaving Colon off the roster and placing Nix on. He says its for defensive reasons, and that the series will be won or lost on defense.

NEWSFLASH, NED!! Your team already has plenty of defense. A better than .300 hitter who actually is a better defender than Nix anyway would have been nice to bring in to pinch hit. He really has no good pinch hitters if he needs them now. Sorry for rambling, but four years of watching Yost's blunders leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Rant over. Good luck, Cap'n!
