Need help from Phoenix, Az guys

The mother of my first 2 kids moved from Philly to Phoenix, Arizona. It's a long story but the address is 5024 N 18th Street. I am leaving off the apartment number for obvious reasons but would just like some help to see if this is a bad area or not.

hey jc....

just checked with www.mapquest.com & found that the cross streets are camelback & colter.....my wife & i spend a lot of time at 24th & camelback where there are a lot of great restaurants & shopping....also many wealthy people including john mccain live around that area...i almost bought a condo at 20th street which is still pretty nice (but not as nice as 24th street area)never been to 18th street but as you move west on camelback, the neighborhood does change...but don't know how much....

I am not from PHX but I've been to that area for work , if I remember correctly the Northside is much safer than SOUTH AND WEST PHX... so I think its like a normal middle class area. Not too far from the Scottsdale resort area.
I actually spent most of my time working the bad areas of Phoenix. Its a lot worse now since Real Estate tanked, I think in some ways PHX is now worse than L.A. crime!
Homefully you'll get some better responses from the locals.
