Need help with a college statistic question. Anyone interested?

I had two Stats course, one was an independent class where I was the only student, Probability of Statistics, easily the toughest class I had, maybe even harder than Organic Chemistry.

However, don't ask me anything as that was just a little bit ago, like 18 years.

Here is the question

Weights of 15-year old males
The mean weight of 15 year old males is 142 lbs, and the standard deviation is 12.3 lbs. If the sample of thirty six 15 year old males is selected, find the probability that the mean of the sample will be greater than 144.5 lbs. Assume the variable is normally distributed. Based on your answer would you considered the group overweight? Please show the work on how you arrived at your answer. I know the answer but need to see the work. Thanks:shrug:

no one enjoys stats/prob because it is so mind numbingly simple.

Read problem
plug numbers into equation
spit out answers

Lots of people always whine and piss and moan about stats and other math classes when in actuality it is the easiest subject to master in high school and college.

what you learn in HS and college is already done, there is very little need to interpret anything or even use your brain.

learn your equations, learn what those equations prove for you.
now put all those equations in your imaginary tool box. dont worry about numbers. all those math problems are trying to see is if you can pick out the right tool for the job and use it. then plug the numbers in.

Girlfriend u monkey. She has been complaining about this course since it has started. I told her that i will find someone on one of these sites that will be able to help. She said no way. This site and the other i post at had the help i needed before the statistic site i posted. Sometimes i think woman are wired a little differently when it comes to math. My mom is one of the smartest people i know and for some reason when it came to math she didn't want anything to do with it.:shrug:
