Damn, I am about to graduate from college (Dec 2003) I am 23 yrs old and my field is Exercise Science. I am very well read about this field. I have submitted plenty of Job apps, internship apps, but to no avail. In Dec i am taking the test National Strength and Conditioning Association. (NSCA) This is like the MCAT for strength trainers. Certification opens up many doors with $$ possibilities.(strength trainer for pro sports team (dREAM) Problem is I cant find anything here in San ANtonio! We are the fattest city on earth....you woiuld think here I would make piles and piles of $$. Well that is hardly the case (I used to be a personal trainer) I need a connection (hopefully in Texas, Arizona) someone who knows someone...trust me I am excellent in my field and the proof is in the pudding (well I practice what I preach), anyways I appreciate the help in advance.

Just a suggestion, but when you are looking for a job/career it doesn't really come across very well when you say you can't find a job, and then in the next breath say:

"trust me I am excellent in my field"

Don't take it the wrong way, I am not saying you aren't. But it got a good chuckle out of me when I stopped to think about it.

Seems pretty logical to me that you can be excellent in your field but there may not be any job openings in the area you are looking at........

He said........."I cant find anything here in San ANtonio" not I cant find anything on this planet...........People all over the world are excellent in their fields but may have to move to find the job openings........

it was the "trust me" part of it that I got a laugh from.

Most people back up claims such as that with referalls to character references, or validation of courses completed on the subject. Not, "trust me"

Yes, this is a forum, and it is informal. But if you are going to shark for jobs on here, and want a serious job, better make it sound like it.

I remember him posting pictures of himself before. Built and cut if I remember right. I think that's what he means by practicing what he preaches. Maybe he needs a little help on writing applications or interviews, but I think u all came down a little hard. I would guess that's a very hard field to break into. Maybe u could work for somebody in that industry and train on the side until u have enough clientelle to go out on your own.
