Hey Jack IMO it's no different than the books having that double standard of a "bad line". We have had this argument before.
There is an unwritten rule, the bookie can't just change mid stream and not book his action like that. I mean previous interactions would play into this IMO, like if they have never had a problem, etc. But if Ronnie bawked on him somewhere then who knows. But I don't think that's the case, sounds like this guy has tried a move before with Bases, and I can't ****ing stand angle shooters.
I agree, stiffing him is probably the wrong thing to do after further thought, but I was half joking. Just paying off and moving on doesn't seem vicious enough though. Hell I'm pissed off now and it didn't even involve me!!

Ronnie.....seriously, drop him. I'd pay the asshole but surely wouldn't deal with him again and I'd let him, and possibly others know that you don't/won't deal with him and why. If you decide on not paying him your credibility is at stake and would you want to have to defend that....I wouldn't as your credibility is worth more in the long run. Anytime I have to second guess anyone the 1st time the end is near, the second time is almost always a lock to happen, then done....GL my friend.
had a somewhat similar situation last year. Local had a thing about using an answerig machine to record your plays. I would call the number for the posted lines and then leave my message accordingly. The machine would shut off 1/2 an hour before the first pitch. I complained to him saying that leaving a message would cause problems eventually. He informed we what an idiot I was and that he hasn't had a problem yet. Of course he had only been doing it for about two months. Sure enough two days later, dumbass posts the total for a Yankee/Rangers tilt at 7 1/2.................had to be wrong everyone else had it at 11. So I loaded up on it. A nickel was his max bet at the time, now it is zero of course, so I maxed it out and had a couple of my buddies who bet very small all the time if they would go the full nickel on the game also and I would bank the bet. Altogether had 2 dimes on the game. Third inning I get a call from Augie, (the middleman) saying that dude made a mistake and is backing out of the bet. "Not my friggin problem pal, the score is 4-3 in the bottom of the second and I have my bet in". Of course they blew that total up I think the final was like 12-8 or something and the guy tried to tell me he didn't have the money and that he would have to go out of business if I didn't settle for only two hundred.................He is no longer in business. Fvck em. The debt is yours so do what you want with it, I would pay it personally and tell him that I will be happy to pay you as soon as you give the line on the game I want to play. Then I would find another book.
Shady shit man! I know its their shop and all. On the other hand, don't go changing the rules when I'm kicking your ass. Just bad business! I don't change the price of my drinks because I don't like you. I'm gonna pay this douche but only what I want to pay him and when its convenient for me. This is the second and last time he tries to shit on me. I appreciate all of the advice from everyone, including Agent. I may just tell him, "Hug a root":mj07:
