What is everyone reading these days? I'm getting dragged to Barnes and Noble today. I might as well pick up something good.

That last books I read were Nolan Dalla's "One of a Kind" and "Dice Angel" by Brian Rouff.

They were both great.

Thanks guys.

FDR's latest bio is HUGE, but fascinating (jean edward smith)

Rick Atkinson's 2nd book on WWII "Day of Battle: Allied Campaign in Sicily and Italy" is excellent. 1st installment...."Army at Dawn" is also great.

For a good quick read in paperback, Grishams "The Innocent Man" is good, a nonfiction that really shows what can happen with dirty cops and bad lawyers.:scared

I am currently reading Suite Francaise by Irene Nemirovsky . It is about a remarkable story of men and women thrown together in circumstances beyond their control. (during nazi occupation in 1940).

Very good read!

Nobody of Franzese's rank ever just walked away from the mob and lived to tell about it. But Franzese has somehow managed to avoid the grave after he turned his back on the past. But what made him leave the lavish lifestyle of the Mafia? Franzese reveals the answers to the many mysteries surrounding his incredible life in this book.403 pages, hardbound, 2003

BURYING THE BLACK SOX
by Carney, Gene

Most fans today know that gamblers and ballplayers conspired to ?fix? the 1919 World Series?the Black Sox Scandal Many, however, would be surprised to learn that it took nearly a year to uncover the fix. This then is the first book to focus on the cover-up that kept the fix from the American public until almost another whole baseball season was played, and to examine in detail the way events unfolded as the deception was unraveled. Carney thoroughly documents his information and brings together evidence from a wide variety of sources. He reveals what else happened and answers the questions that fascinate any baseball fan wondering about baseball?s original dilemma over guilt and innocence. Who else in baseball knew that the fix was in? When did they know? And what did they do about it? Carney explores how Charles Comiskey, the owner of the White Sox, and his fellow owners tried to bury the incident and control the damage, how the conspiracy failed, and how ?Shoeless? Joe Jackson attempted to clear his name. 362 pages, hardbound, March 2006.
