great neighborhood league..

appox year 12 of existence if I remember correctly..

pick 8 drivers/car

in essense you are selecting the car because our league awards the race points to the car all year long..so in the case like last year w/Hamlin injury a neighbor is not eliminated from contention.

small payout weekly winner[plus flies the checkered flag all week] and 1-2-3 share the bigger pot 50-30-20 % at the end

10 million to spend

Dillion and Stenhouse would be better choices over Vickers and Truex in my opinion. Kyle Larson would be a great cheap darkhorse in that format also. That kid is the real deal. I would lay odds that he wins a race in his rookie season this year.

take a look at Vickers top 10 in his few starts and let me know if ya feel the same way..

league scoring in points keep in mind..

a win by anyone doesn't mean much in this league if ya finish out of the top 20..

in fact I would venture to say in all the years we have done the league that would be the case..

the trick in finding those 2 drivers that slip into the top 20 along w/your 6 other heavy hitters..

I look for Dillion to have a decent year as well but nothing like say Kane had his rookie year...

or Kurt B's return to strong contender last season..

who was the difference maker for me last season winning the league..

input welcome folks..

I would love to win the league a record 5th time..

note...hard to win the league w/o Jimmy

That seems like a lot of fun. I would love for something like that around where I live. Don't know of many who like Nascar unfortunately.

Here's what I came up with...

Johnson 2,000,000
Logano - 1,500,000
Hamlin - 1,400,000
Stewart - 1,150,000
Kahne - 1,100,000
Edwards - 1,050,000
Keselowski - 1,000,000
Stenhouse - 800,000

OS if you can fit Larson into your lineup somewhere for 300,000 salary, I think it would be foolish not to take him. I'm telling you this kid has mad skills.

I've been following sprint car racing for a long time and in this day and age you never see a guy come up through the field like this, especially at Eldora.

nice team if the 2 rooks don't shit the bed on ya..

if the kid Larson could equal Montoya's out put last year 894 points would be a good buy at $300,000.00...My quess is he can't do any thing but improve that squad..Montoya's switch to real racing :SIB was a bust at best..never lived up to the hype.

my early look at my team

1850 Kyle..gotta have the bro's

1400 Hamlin...will rebound strong.......great driver

1200 Kurt ..they come to race..

1000 Brad also

1700 Jeff [all time winning active driver] Gordon...:00hour
big problem is that Jeff is over-valued again this year..got away w/it last year w/his 6th place finish can't expect that year after year from the greatest active driver alive:00hourhe's getting old..

he has been on my neighborhood team all 12 years we have had the league

appreciate everybody thoughts..

great neighborhood league ..

x amount for the year..anywhere from 36.00 up

payoff a little each week..and bigger payoff w/party around the time of the second Richmond race.

Without a doubt Kurt Busch is one of the best talents behind the wheel but he also is the biggest headcase in the garage. That alone would shy me away from taking him. I can't see him and smoke getting along for a whole season. Bottom line is, if he doesn't piss off his boss and keeps his head on his shoulders he will likely have a good year. I certainly wouldn't bet on it though.
As far as Larson matching Montoya's numbers from last year... I don't think that will be a problem. He can easily make the top 20 in points. If he catches some breaks here at there and he gels well with his team it wouldn't suprise me one bit if he makes the chase.

I'll drop in during the season and check on the teams posted here..

there is a version of this league on the web w/100's of players in the league if you are interested.

search...2014 nascar league values.

that will bring up 2 of the biggest on the web..

Here was another night the young lad showed up at Port Royal and started deep in the field and drove it up through like a cagey veteran. He ended up stepping on his young penis and spinning out. You just don't come into Pennsylvania and clean house in a sprint car. You just don't.

Tony Stewart himself says driving sprint cars makes him a better cup racer.

This might be the best victory lane interview ever. Smoke was more happy about winning this race than the Pocono race the following day.

Sprint car racing is the most exciting racing you could ever watch IMO. But also the most dangerous and the casualties are many.

I think this may have been Kasey Kahne's last sprint car ride. After this Mr. Hendrick said "no more of this fucking shit!!"
