My one brother who is living with me agrees to watch this puppy so my other brother doesn't know about it. Since it is my house i say cool bring it over. Yesterday i get to meet the puppy and it is the cutest Rottweiler. Here is the problem. The freaking thing stinks so bad i couldn't believe my nephew and brother couldn't smell it when they picked it up and driven it home. I told my nephew he has to do something. He can't hand this dog over smelling like this. My other brother has a bad cold and say's he couldn't smell anything. This thing smells like a fifty year old horse blanket. The poor dog is scared to death. Do i take a shot and try to bath it? Will this cause it more trama? I can't get withing ten feet of this thing it smells so bad. Now my brother with the bad cold can smell it. :facepalm:

Depending on how he was kept, the smell may not be just on his coat. Many times dogs have minor ear infections that make them smell horrendous. Have a look and a sniff there before you put him through the stress of bathing him.

It is quaranteed in my brothers room. He got these dog wipes from his friend last night. I asked him if the wipes worked. He said the dog still stinks. Poor little guy. Well he is actually big for three months. Paws like an adult dog. Nephew bought it off some amish farm :facepalm:
My sister is having Christmas dinner. Her place is spot less. I know my nephew will bring the dog. My sister will go thru the roof when she catches this aroma. I was thinking about giving her the heads up but maybe i might enjoy her reaction a wee bit more. Poor little guy is afraid of the surroundings. I want to play with it but it is like rolling around on the floor with an unflushed toliet.
Try finding a groomer or a vet today. I told my brother to take it yesterday but he couldn't really smell it with his cold. I should have just taken it.

Have youfigured out why he smells? Could be medical reason like va said in his ear or could be a skin infection. My dog this past summer had an infection in his groin area we couldn't figure out why he smelled because he was bathed but smell was still there. Routine checkup at vet it was discoverd given antiobiotics in a month smell gone.

I was once told that when you get a new dog you should bring the dog into a vet for a complete physical & that the seller should at least split the cost & while there you should have a goomer clean the dog....
jack the problems is the dog is scared to death. Now throwing him in a tub he might go nuts. I think it is just dog smell like when they get wet but it is strong. Reminds me of the time i went to Cancun. smells just like those cabs. I remember asking the cab driver if he had a wet dog in the trunk :mj07: after i said that i think it took me two hours just to get to a place i thought was right across the street :shrug: he wasn't to happy.
