Subaru - all wheel drive, so you can still go anywhere in inclement weather. Good gas mileage. Since I've been living in Colorado since 1997 I have only owned Subarus - I used to snowboard and hike high in the mountains, and now I live at 8500 feet, so my cars have seen some rough conditions, but hardly ever needed service.

My car now has 85,000 miles, and it is still running like new. Only maintenance I ever put it in was the standard things (oil, brakes, etc).

And if you really want to get a new one, get "last years model" - when I got my current Subaru, it was new, but they just came out with the newest models, so I got about $5k off it...

The car talk guys on NPR always promote Subaru as a sound choice for a vehicle.

Save the money you would be making in payments for a year and then put some other money in and pay cash for something. You can get a cool ride for 5-7.5k. Just because you're finally making some good money doesn't mean you should spend it.

I know the feeling of finally making money and wanting a new car. My family never had one nice car when I as growing up so when I finished up school and got a job I wanted to buy something new and did. The first year or two wasn't bad but once I reached years 3, 4 and 5 I wished I didn't have the loan over my head. I leased my next vehicle after that and that wasn't any better. Since then I've always paid cash for cars and I can promise you that it's a lot easier long term. If I feel like one of my cars is about to give me problems I simply get rid of it and look for a new one. I don't have to worry about how much I owe. If you're willing to shop and be picky then there's a good chance you can sell if for what you bought it for or at least close to that. I made money off of my last vehicle after only owning it for a year.

Save your money for things that matter and for making good memories. Take a big trip here or there. Those are the things that last for life and make you smile forever. Cars are something we forget.

I totally agree that you can get lucky sometimes and get a good one. Your voyager is the only one though that made it that far. You hit the lottery with 2.

it was a 4 cyliinder got very lucky especiially after 4 hwy deer colliisions. At 599,000 the replacement tranny went out and it was time to let it go. The caravan is a 6 cyliinder just have to put up with the oil burning a quart every 1500 miles. My mechanic told me last october I'd be lucky to get another month out of it. He is still amazed its running dura lube is a great product I use every 50,000 miles.

Live in Casper...........open to any brand......

Thanks

I grew up there. Lived there from ages 2-13. Is the Events Center still there? A lot of good childhood memories from that place, including Globetrotters, Barnum & Bailey, and a near miss tornado.

And to be on topic, I would add my voice to the Subaru chorus. Excellent AWD, low maintenance and balls if you want them.

I had a ford exploder I put 200,000 on without a problem. Its all about keeping your vehicle maintained. Now Ford Lariat, Ford Mustang, Harley Low Rider. All American
