Congrats to the New Jersey Devils!

The winner in every single game of the Stanley Cup Finals so far has gone to the home team. . . can't see why it will all the sudden change now.

Huge bet on the Devils straight up and a small bet on the goal line.

Gl all!

Devil's Advocate

Allow me to play the Devil's Advocate tho not the New Jersey Devils' advocate, if you please.

While the winner of every game in this series so far has been the home team, this is a somewhat slim stat on which to base a big bet. Here are some contrarian ideas from an article by Trevor Stewart in his article on the covers.com site. Just a little food for thought. :p

"It's time for a change," Ducks forward Steve Thomas told the Los Angeles Daily News after Game 6. "You could play that game on the North Pole and it wouldn't matter, because at this point, home ice means jack. We're going to be ready to play Monday night."

You can't fault the Ducks for positive thinking. And add this to Anaheim's confidence-boosting list: the road team holds a 3-2 advantage the five series' that have been stretched to seven games in the 2003 playoffs. And the two Game 7 victories for the home side both came in the first round. In fact, New Jersey advanced to the Stanley Cup finals with a Game 7 road victory at Ottawa.

If the Devils can win this one, it will be only the third time in league history the home side went 7-0 through the finals. The last time it happened was 1965.

The last time neither Stanley Cup finals team was broken at home through the first six games of the series was in 1971. However, Montreal claimed the prize on the road, by winning Game 7 in Chicago, 3-2.

New Jersey has had trouble closing out series' during this playoff run, as it?s 3-4 straight up (SU) and just 2-5 against the spread (ATS) when it's had the chance to eliminate an opponent.

The Devils also led the 2001 Stanley Cup Finals versus Colorado 3-2, but failed to finish the Avalanche. New Jersey was a disappointing 3-4 SU when trying to clinch a series during that postseason.

Good luck whatever you play and enjoy the Finale!

Yanno,

Very good points. . . but I still think its psycological over anything else. . . Devils have got to be pissed at how they played Saturday and now they get one more chance and at home nonetheless.

The Ducks have try and maintain their momentum from the past two games. Devils are a heavy favorite for this game as they should be. Taking either team at +140 or higher for a Game 7 like this looks to be a gift and will likely be denied.

NICKELBACK, NICE TO HAVE YOU IN THIS FORUM. I TRULY BELIEVE THE DEVILS WILL SHOW UP TONITE AND PLAY. THEY PLAY WITH THAT EXTRA CONFIDENCE AT HOME AND THEY KNOW THEY WILL WIN. FORGET ANY STATS, I THOUGHT THE BEST STAT ANYONE TOLD ME WAS GAME 5 IN NJ. THE FIRST TEAM TO SCORE IN GAME 5 HAS ALWAYS GONE ON TO WIN THAT GAME, WELL NOT ANYMORE, DUCKS SCORE AT THE START OF THE GAME AND DEVILS WENT ON TO DOMINATE THE GAME. THEY JUST KNOW HOW TO WIN AT HOME. THEY WILL GO UNDEFEATED AT HOME. JUST A MATTER OF TIME.
SO NICKEL, SIT BACK AND ENJOY THIS ONE
