I am a Cowboy fan- don't hate me for it...:nono: :mj07: ..... but I may have been a little too young for that game. Was that game in 78 or 81?

...............................................................

In the 1978 season, the Falcons entered their first playoff series and won the Wild Card game against the Philadelphia Eagles 14?13. The following week, they lost to the Dallas Cowboys 27?20 in the Divisional Playoffs.

Same page Rusty! I think this is the year for him to take it to next level and you can only be considered in those talks when you win playoff games!! Not saying ATL will win the Superbowl, but my gut says they make the trip to Dallas!

So many solid young QB's in the league coming up- Rodgers, Sanchez, Flacco, Ryan, Freeman, Stafford (when healthy) and Bradford to name a few.

The guys of next generation that have the "IT" FACTOR IMO are Ryan and Bradford. As a rookie Bradford, even though he made lots of mistakes, sure commanded the O, players respect and sidelines. As long as they keep their coach who was a helll od D coordinator in NY, St Louis will be a big factor in the NFL playoffs once again in 2-3 years along with ATL..... :0074

Sorry KOD....no more ATL posts from me in your NE/JETS thread!!

This is the road to the Super Bowl. I am interested in information on every team still in the playoffs going forward.

Recent mock draft I looked at

14. St. Louis Rams -- Julio Jones, WR, Alabama

The Rams could use help on the offensive line, but there are a lot of questions in this year's OL crop. They also need another big target for Sam Bradford.

The Patriots ended the season with an eight-game winning streak and were undefeated at home. :SIB

The Patriots also scored a whopping 205 more points than they allowed in 2010 -- by far the best mark in the league. They are 6-1 against 2010 playoff teams. New York has lost only two games on the road this season.

In both games, the losing team turned the ball over three times and the winning team did not have a turnover.

The Patriots were best in the NFL at valuing the ball, committing only 10 turnovers. And only the Giants had more takeaways than New England.

The Jets get the edge here on special teams, but that advantage is marginal

The Patriots (14-2) have been crushing all comers lately. Since a 34-14 loss at Cleveland on Nov. 7, New England has won eight straight by an average of more than three touchdowns.

The winning streak hasn't come against soft competition, either, as four of the remaining eight teams in the playoffs -- Pittsburgh, Chicago, Green Bay and the Jets -- have been among those beaten.

The Patriots have forced 24 turnovers during the streak while committing only one as Tom Brady plays possibly the best football of his career. The future Hall of Famer finished the season with 36 touchdown passes and four interceptions -- the last coming against Baltimore in Week 6.

Since then, he's thrown an NFL-record 335 consecutive passes without getting picked off.

You can bet Danny Woodhead will run with a vengeance against the team that cut him during the preseason, just as he did in the Monday night mauling of the Jets. His lack of size makes it hard for defenses to find him. BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Woodhead might lack star power, but are capable of burning opponents that focus all of their attention on stopping Brady.

Danny Woodhead
.....................................................................

Lets face it Ryan and Cromartie running their traps could have a significant impact on this games outcome.

Brady and his teamates might not acknowledge they are angry .

But when they get on their home field the motivation is there to really stomp on the Jets necks.

If NE gets the chance to run the score up at any time early or late they are going to do it,

Love being in this situation with the better team wanting to kick some asses.

Can't argue with your results, or your reasoning, but I am gonna stick with Pats -8.5. I don't feel the buy is necessary. They won't win by 42 again, but I feel strongly that they can cover two scores.

They are all about business, and simply do not turn the ball over. The Jets are talking a good game, just like last time, but the game is played between the lines.
And you are right, it is wise to avoid the close games, GB has been in every game they lost this year, including preseason. All 8 losses ( two preseason) are by 4 points or less. But with the line down to 1 and 1.5 most places, I'm gonna roll with your Falcons to win and cover, though only by a hair.

really hope your right about the NE game.

We need another one of your Seattle type step out plays.:0074

Hard to believe that there is just not that much fan hype going on around Atlanta. You will see no cars with Falcons flags flying, or ppl that seem to be joyful about this game.

Honestly I dont have a good feeling about the Falcons advancing.

If they can get by Green Bay I will be making a big play on the next game in Atlanta next weekend.

Guess we will know soon.

Jets coach Rex Ryan listed Sanchez as practicing fully. Sanchez hit a low point with the injury after the Bears game, when he was visibly bothered by it and said it was "very sore." Asked how bad it had been, Sanchez deflected the question.

"It's feeling good now and that's the most important thing," Sanchez said. "Nothing our trainers can't handle."

In Saturday's win over the Indianapolis Colts, Sanchez overthrew many balls in the first half. The Jets won the game on the strength of the run. Sanchez said he didn't think the early misses were the result of the injury, but more an off game that can happen at anytime.

"I think I was just not throwing the ball very well," Sanchez said. "Some days you're off or you've got to finds a way to make it work. And I think we did that just getting completions underneath, being smart, taking our shots when we got them and giving our guys a chance, and that was the most important thing. It wasn't the best throw in the world to Braylon [Edwards] and I'm not afraid to admit that, and he made a really good catch. However it has to happen, we won the game and we're in the divisional round and that's the most important thing."

I have lived my whole life trying to make my father proud of me. Through the many things I have been able to accomplish in my life it never seems like it has been enough. My father divorced my mom when I was 4 so my memorys are not the best. There was alot of fighting and name calling.
I couldnt wrap my young brain around all that.
There was talk from my mom about how we were not eating much that week because your father has not sent the child support money. It might have came late but he always sent it.
He always lived a long ways from us working for the airlines.

There was a time when we didnt speak to each other for 10 years. Our family on my fathers side holds grudges and we are masters at it. My grandfather got into a argument over a calf they were selling. His brother didnt give him all the money. He never spoke to him again. We were cheated not knowing my grandfathers brother who owned a big farm with alot of animals.

So even today, through our strained relationship over the years, I still have never heard my father say nice going son or put his arm around me about something I have been able to do.

When I was graduating from high school I had a counselor mr lavalee who told me I would never amount to anything. My grades were not that good and I could forget college. He said I should maybe try some vocational training. I was crushed.

Its hard to tell looking back if it helped me to be a stronger man or held me back from even better achievements in my life.

After graduating from college I wanted to go back and find Mr Lavallee and wave my diploma in his face, but I think he was dead by then.

This movie really brought that yearning out for me. It made me feel like at least Rudy was able to
make his father proud. Even if I couldn't.

GO NE !

Then things got heated when Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie said he took exception to Patriots quarterback Tom Brady pointing and gesturing at Gang Green's sideline after a touchdown in their December matchup. He called Brady an "a--hole," and said he hated him.

Brady responded somewhat mildly. He said Cromartie was a "good player," but made sure to add that Darrelle Revis was a "great player."

On Thursday, Welker used his press conference to ratchet up the chatter. Not only did Welker say that Revis had "good feet," and "great feet," he also said the Pats were "putting their best foot forward."

His barbs got mostly laughs from the Jets.

Center Nick Mangold responded to Welker's witticisms with this tweet Friday night:

"Welker is a great player. He's taken advantage of watching film. If we don't keep a Spy on him, he could really open the Gate."
Mangold's use of the words "Spy" and "Gate" are obvious references to Spygate of 2007, when the Jets accused the Patriots of videotaping their signals from the sideline.

Veteran fullback Tony Richardson laughed and said that now he can say he's seen it all in rivalry talk. "I actually did my show on SNY Saturday and that's how we opened the show and I was laughing," Richardson said. "Yeah, it's personal, but there have been some shots taken this week. It is what it is. It's playoff time, nothing surprises me."

Tom Brady's much more suited to playing, and winning, a cold-weather game than Mark Sanchez. I was standing in the tunnel after the Patriots' 45-3 win over the Jets on Dec. 6, the game played in 15-degree wind chill, and when Sanchez walked by, the kid from California looked like a popsicle. That night, Tom Brady completed 72 percent of his passes, with four touchdowns, no interceptions and a 148.9 passer rating. Sanchez's numbers: 52 percent, zero touchdowns, three picks, 27.8 rating. This Sunday, the temperature should be a balmy 27. I'm not saying Sanchez can't play in the cold; I'm saying his opposing number thrives in it, and Sanchez has struggled, and Sanchez is coming off a poor performance with a big late-game completion to Braylon Edwards to set up the winning field goal, indoors at Indianapolis.

I have to say, I have a hard time keeping my focus and concentration in your thread with these hotties you post....but I digress for a moment.

The "X" factor in GB-Atl is the Starks kid. He has fresh legs, and was impressive last week, and though I'm not even sure if it matters, it was a little bit of a surprise for Philadelphia. No sneaking up this week.

I like Matty Ice under pressure. With Snelling, Turner Tony G and Roddy White, there is no shortage of A-list options on the O side of the ball. And his home record is no joke. Losing the Saints game was probably a blessing.

Trouble is, Green Bay D is for real, and they have allowed what, 6 teams, 7 or less points in last 10? Whatever the number is ( too lazy to look it up), it is sick.

I also think w/ a normal game from David Akers last week, the game changes completely. They wouldn't have needed to force it into the endzone with 35 secs left....blah blah blah...you know what I'm saying. And the point I made before about all of the close losses. Aaron Rodgers now has one playoff win lifetime, and a lot of close losses. ( not in postseason, but reg)

I like Falcons Special Teams too.

Like we agreed, probably good to just stay off of this one, and bite all your fingernails off watching it.

And yes, if they do win, I would pound the shit out of them next week.

BTW ,the under 43.5 looks juicy to me.
Even 23-20 is a winner, and that sounds pretty good.
