Hello to the forum,

I started betting 4 weeks ago for the first time in my life and it has gone really well. I am up big considering the amounts I was betting..200-500 a game...now I have inherited some money from the passing of my grandfather. He has left me 90k and I want to use this money as my $$ to gamble with. I want to start betting big and see if I can double or triple this $$$. In the short time I have seen this site, I have noticed people here lose quite often. Is this the norm? I see a lot of people getting hammered on big plays??? Like Phoenix in the 2nd half last night...I went opposite a lot of guys here who said they were betting there biggest wager ever...I saw that and went opposite..Sac obviously killed them...Is this a good strategy?? should I go against the gamblers and in the long run make$$$..I guess that would make me sort of a bookie..and dont they always win in the end??

Looking for advice...will start placing large wages tonight and start this idea of mine..

You should find something better to do with that 90k then piss it away gambling.

Grandpa just rolled over in his grave. If you're a new gambler, and you're thinking about making large wagers after only 4 weeks, then this battle is not for you. You have a lot to learn before you even consider wagering with a $900 balance. My advice to you, invest your time and money in something else. Good luck!

Bookies always come out on top because of the vig, and sometimes from creative accounting. I wouldn't suggest putting the 90k into sports wagering. With that much money there are safer ways to make more money in the long run.

I was looking at your record..impressive. I only want to play a few games a night..1-3 games is enough..dont think I will piss it away. I have done well thus far and I think it is just a matter of staying grounded and realistic. This is just like picking stock, investing in real estate or any other venture. There are always risks....but no risk no reward, no guts no glory and no pain no gain!!! I am looking forward to this!! I appreciate your response but will go forward as planned and will keep an eye on your plays since you have been the most successful player on here..congrats!

4 weeks and you expect to double or triple 90K?

Bet it it on red....that's your best chance of doubling it.

I am hardly the most successful player on here! Yes, I'm off to a great start, but there are members here who have been doing this a lot longer than I have. Make sure you know who they are! I have learned from them over the years, and you should too if you're really going to do this. Best of luck, and sorry to hear about your loss.

Is this really what your Grandpa would want?

Ethically, this is doesn't look like a good spot. But it is your money, do as you wish.

WHy not just use 30-40k to gamble with and the rest invest or put it in a bond and get some extra income 10 yrs from now.

i wonder how long it took your grandfather to earn that money. obviously its your money, to do what you will, but there are many other ways to have your money make you money. there are no shortage of cappers giving advice. if i were you i would learn about the sports and make your own decision. the last thing you want to do is place large bets based on the advice of people you dont know. can you imagine how upset you would be if you pissed away all of that money, based on picks by other people.
there are a huge amount of scammers out there that will screw you over in a heart beat. beware of people guarentying to make you money. i have a friend who got sucked in to some of these people. he even sent them cash for them to manage his money for him. then they disappeared. maybe you might want to consider just putting a few hundred dollars ina few accounts and try it yourself.
i inherited some money a few years back and started betting, i was more conservative. every time i made a bet i thought of how hard my father had to work to earn that money, and asked myself if he would do what i'm doing. i think we almost have a responsibility to use this type of money with respect.
i'll stop preaching, would hate to see you blow it.
good luck.

ST said it most succinctly. Sounds like a precursor to a scam attempt. Let me reason why.

Bro take that money and get out now, as soon as you start losing some of it, your going to want to make it back, soon your going to be betting just to try to make back that money, you'll say when I get my money back to even than I'll get out than before you know it you'll be just trying to get half of it back and get out, next thing you know your down to your last few G's and your pulling for a miracle. I know you want to make the money, but just take what you got right now and do something productive with it. By the way I got a question for you, if you didn't play the money and walked away knowing you could of made money would you be able to live with that ? Let me ask you this if you lost all that money and knew that you could of just kept the money and walked away would you able to live with that ? The risks out factor the potential gains. Just get out while you can. Because as I said by the time you do realize it will be too late, you'll be as they say "in too deep". Allright take care. Peace.

yes, to answer your question, one of the best strategies ever is to fade others on their big plays. GL!

$90,000 to gamble with, why not invest it, or if you are so quick to spend it, buy a few cars, give it to charity, remodel your house, buy some property, hell, there are a hundred better ways that to start off, not having gambled before and $90,000....

I understand the way you feel.

You see those zeros and you feel bulletproof.

Take out 10K and put in into a "free checking account" at any local bank.

Place the other 80k in a fund that will lock it up for five years (or longer).

Blow the 10K on hookers, coke, sports....whatever. Have a hell of a time. You will thank me later.

You will thank me more in 5 years.
