Just invented it this morning....

"Home school a telemarketer".

Object of the game is to see how long you can keep a telemarketer on the phone.

This morning I chatted with Mrs. Judith Carter, 60, from Lansing Ill. who works for J.C. Penny's and is trying to sell Health Insurance (Good luck!).

Judiths likes to play cards, smoke, and is a fan of the Cubbie, Bulls & Bears.

Judith is just getting over a nasty cold and has been taking meds for over 3 weeks.

Judith and I chatted for 22mins with no sale :SIB

I don't get 'em anymore.....thank goodness, but still get the odd Jehovah's witness. I like to put it to 'em now and again, but only if they get o me before my coffee.

Another fun game is to tell them you are interested in what they are selling and just have to do somehting really quick and will be back to the phone. Then set the phone down and see how long they will sit on the line. It is amazing how long some of them will stay on the line. My record is in the neighborhood of 38 minutes.

I did this once when I was visiting my Mom... the guy was a San Diego grad and we talked gambling and WCC hoops for like a half hour. He still tried to get me to buy (I think he was selling Showtime or some cable stuff), but it was amusing.

Every Tuesday night I have a telemarketer call around 7:30 that tries to sell me Legal Advice. Let me ask him how you should proceed with this line of questioning.......

Sunday telemarketers :shrug: ...........Oh well, come on down!

Jamie is in her early 50's, divorced with 12yr old twins. Jamie current lives and works in Ft. Lauderdale Fla as a sales rep for "Septic Helper" and the fine folks at Miller-Plante in NJ. Septic Helper has been around for over 28 years and is non-toxic.

Jamie is orginally from NY City and is a huge NY Islander fan. Jamies short term goal is to move back the NY as she misses the cold.

Jamie and I chatted for 34 mins this afternoon while I played poker at Full Tilt and watched the Football game. Though Jamie is not a true football fan she does feel bad about the Dolphin's current situation. While chatting with Jamie I was able to set the phone done 3 separte occasions for a total of 6 1/2 mins to go and speak with my wife (who happens to be of skiing with the kids).

Jamie currently is offering a 6 yr supply of Septic Helper (not affiliated with Hamburger Helper) for $199. Jamie will be at her phone untill 4pm eagerly waiting for my call back!

Nope has to be home #. Fcked up rule--Only get 8 to 10 calls on land line a month max most them are wrong # (Either Hymers plumbing or Steves Baseball cards) and have to pay for service. If not for rule would use just cell phone at home as rarily take it with me anyway.
