(KD or other math/probabiliby whizzes that can come up with a way for a collective group to figure out what the lowest unique bid is would be able to make a killing here!!!)

I looked at the $5,000 in cash - there are 971 bids left to be made and a $9.24 bid fee = $8,972.04

Sounds like a no brainer.

Look at the 65" Panasonic

Retail $9,999 - There are 2,379 bids remaining at $9.24 per bid = $21,981.96

Sure it's great if you can get a TV for 9.24 plus whatever you bid, but that site is making money on every item.

Every summer our church has a week long summer fair.
Part of the fair is selling chances on several new automobiles. Only 50 chances PER vehicle is sold at the cost of $500 per chance. The vehicles typically retail for $20,000 so the church makes a few thousand per car but more importantly, there is a 1 in 50 chance of being a winner. Not too shabby and the cost of the ticket is a tax deduction.

That's whats going on here but :chances" are at a much lower price (and much greater odds than 1 in 50).
You also have to trust that the legitimate winner gets the item.

Wow, interesting website.. Wish I woulda thought of that.. How can someone trust them though? They are guaranteed a nice profit on every item, so there's no reason they should "fix" these auctions, but I guess ya never know
