Saint some where here a long time back I said just that. Were so big so how you stop them all. So lets screw up everyones hoildays and come out with some scare chit. That helps?
And mean while they fight in the republican controlled congress about the money our cities need to help them self. Now mind you the Republicans dont need one liberial vote to pass this. But they them selfs just keep fighting with each other.
So the answer is a press conferance to look like there doing soemthing. Come on Man anyone can see through that smoke.
The Mayor of NY just today again was begging. He by the way is a Republican. Cant understand why Bush does not put his foot down. When you see chit like that on the Republican channel FOX. You know chit is bad and someone is not doing there job.

Saint, I would have bombed the Hell of Afaghanastan. I would have worked with the International community. Yes, the UN sucks. But I would have pulled all our money and support if they didn't staighten out. I would not have gone to war with Iraq. I would not have given Halliburton sweetheart deals. I would have spent money here to defend ourselves first. If I did find another country harbouring terrorists I would bomb the crap out of them too. And I would not worry about rebuilding it. Let it serve as a warning to the rest of them that life after me isn't going to be easy. I wouldn't let Bin Laden hide in Pakistan and not go in and get him. I would go get him. And if Pakistan didn't like it to Hell with them. And if they hid in Holy Buildings I would flatten the building before I let harm come to one US soldier. That is where I think Bush is wrong. It has nothing to do with hating him. The man is a hypocrit and a liar and he has the Neocon Fox News defending ever stupid thing he does.

saint quote: "Here's my plan: Pull every American troop out of every country, region, area, nook and cranny of the entire earth. Shut out borders to immigration, build a big freaking wall along the canadian and mexican border. Sink every boat w/ illegals from cuba, haiti etc en route to the US. Suck every dollar of aid, every morsel of food, every package of medicine, every ounce of support to all countries across the globe.

Then lets phuking see what happens. Lets see how france does. Lets see how all of the ingrateful asssholes of this world do. There is a reason we as a country have a chip on our shoulder. IT's because we support half of the free world in one way or another, and they are all ingrates. Pull it all back, and then let people realize how much they need us.

And to all of the bush haters on here. You guys have made your point. Why must you post and repeat the same dribble every day. I think people forget what a crappy hand bush was dealt when he came into office. An economy that was going to go downhill due to previous administrations, and 9/11. Even if you don't agree with where we are in Iraq, you have to admit bush was dealt a shitty hand. I'm not sure how much better anyone else done.

And the last thing. I've got to agree with Raymond on this one. Your chance to voice you stance of Bush is during the elections. With terror knocking on the door and likely any day, I think it's time as Americans to stick together, regardless of who you support. This country is going to need to unite if we are going to deal with another 9/11, not bicker endlessly."

i think that is a really great post.

i agree with everything that you posted.

"Once again the Republicans try to politize terror. How dare they suggest that Al-Qaida might attack just in order to change ther election!"

How dare they? I would say that would be valid concern since they just finished doing same in Spain or do you believe the timing was coincidental? Maybe?--- but doubtful and if it was they sure learned important lesson from it.

Now I will agree that if they do it could backfire and strenthen support for Bush but I have to think (and it is my own opinion)
that Alqeda is not that wise and if I was sitting in their shoes and would have to consider impact on liberals in Spain and the outcome.

I think the terrorist were surprised at the reprisal after 911 because in past we did little after their attacks on embassy's and such and not sold that they do not think they can sway liberals here as in Spain.--and my thoughts do not stem from belief that many liberals are not just as patriotic as conservatives but stems from the fact that they do not know us and that we are not France
I think they do follow trends and read papers and I will lay blame flat on liberal press. They get steady diet of cons on war and negative press from large publications like Ny and LA times.
They read little if any on support.
How bad is it--a few facts of interest.
I was astounded last night when I saw that both papers had ran
FRONT PAGE articles on prison abuse for OVER 20 consecutive days. As O'reilly asked what new has happened each day to warrent front page news--nothing. By the way AlJezeera has done the same--many reprint articles per the 2 papers above.
case in point today http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/C5A80D22-888C-4A17-8BA3-6304F82E5F86.htm

Now I can respect those that hate Bush-hate the war ect but this is without doubt putting soilders-and other americans lives everywhere including here at risk and for what--a political agenda.

If anyone read only these papers they would not see any light shed on positive aspects happening there but have daily diet of all the negatives. It is not hard to decern why terrorist media report these views in trying to fuel the fires--but why do elements of our own media do exactly the same?

and as I said before when the shit hits the fan again--and it will-- you can make book it will be in a liberal envirnoment area--
A: They can move about more freely
B: they consider them more easily swayed
however I donot believe that liberals will be more easily swayed lest we forget how city of NY came together after 911 , however you can thank the media for instilling this belief in the terrorist.

Dogs I agree that the Prison abuse scandal should not still be front page news. But I also question what good things have happened in Iraq that outweigh the death of American soldiers. The difference we have is not in fighting terrorists, in fact, I would be much more aggressive then Bush has been. It comes from the fact that we disagree on whether or not Iraq is the place to fight them.
Of course the response after 9-11 was greater than any other response we had made to terror but never had we suffered an attack of that magnitude. And yes we did pull together then. It wasn't until this waste of time, money, and lives in Iraq did we seperate.

DJV, from what I read it is not the entire Pentagon that doesn't know anything but rather Rummy and Wolf who are trying to twist every piece of intelligence into proving their preconcieved Neocon agenda.

believe the figure was 8,000 djv :)

My question, past and present show us they hate us and attack regardless if we fight them or do nothing and look the other way. So which do you suggest we do?

As with politicians on both sides--complaining about things and pointing fingers is easy-having solutions in another story.

i saw the o'reilly piece also & was appalled that the info on those terror suspects appeared on page 16 of the n.y. times.

it's ashamed that the news media don't just report the news instead of shaping the news to fit their political bent.

btw, i don't mean to say that the times is the only paper that does it, & i don't mean that only liberal media outlets do this, there all doing it.

but right now since we are at war, i'm more pissed at the liberal media than the conservative media.and i agree with dtb that some of this negative "news that's fit to print" aids the enemy.

i just heard that the kurds in the northern part of iraq have a form of democracy for their gov't, a thriving economy, & a low crime rate, yet we hear almost nothing about that.

hmm, i wonder why ?

AR both sides slanting the news is dangerous. The fact that both sides present their views as news dangerous. I agree. But no one is willing to take them to task for it. O'Rielly is a great one to point out how bad the liberals are but her never attacks the conservatives. I wonder why that is?

stevie,

i don't know how often you watch o'reilly, but you are not being fair to him because he does attack both sides.

for example he was all over jeb bush & the fla. administration for losing that foster child a few years back.

he also has been questioning rumsfeld on alot of war issues & has called for his resignation.

and as a matter of fact, he used to work in the boston area when kerry ran agaianst william weld, & covered that senatorial race. he got to know kerry very well & kerry has been on his show many times while bush has never been on the show while in office.

i disagree with o'reilly on some issues (religion for one example) & i don't like his self promotion, but you are not giving him a fair shake when you say that he doesn't attack the right.

you should watch him with an open mind for a few nights & he might change your mind & you might find him entertaining.

What the Kurds have done is great. Why is that. They dont fight with them selfs like the other 5 tripes of Iraq do. However there idea of we will be independent dont work. Bush has said we are not deviding the country. So lets hope they dont start a civil war. The Kurds pull no punches about they want to be seprate.
So what do we do when the other 5 tripes all say. Well we will take this as our part of Iraq. This is where are planing has failed.
And were down to 33 days and they still have not picked anyone as a government to hand this place to. Can you believe that. Then the ones they thought about picking. They find they cant be trusted. We have had 18 months to find someone.

whats ridiculous is that conservatives are very quick to criticize (for example we get very critical when Bush spends like a drunken sailor or refuses to shut down our borders) but liberals will defend any action of their people to no ends

Freeze once again you are way off. Some liberals are critical of other libs and some conservatives are critical of some conservatives. What you do not see is a Neocon being critical of another Neocon. Ann Coulter and Sean Hannitty for example.

truly trying to be as objective as possible, I strongly feel the neo cons have been the majority of the problem regarding Iraq. I genuinely feel Bush is a decent caring human being that has got himself hamstrung taking advice from these guys that had a agenda for Iraq Long Long ago. Rummy Wolf Pearlman Cheney and that piss ant Scooter have got Bush so committed financially & militarily there is little he can do. I really think Bush believed he was doing the right thing, especially a year ago when he proclaimed the War basically over. He deserved better planning from his cabinet and didn't get it .

Ar, are you sure weld Ran against Kerry? I remember weld running against Silber for governor And won of course. Then again if this was during the period of my accident I could have missed anything LoL, missed almost 3 years.

shamrock,

i'm almost positive that weld ran vs. kerry for kerry's present seat as senator of mass.

o'reilly has mentioned that race a few times because he was impressed with kerry's handling of that race.
