I love it. Quick to learn too. I spent 10 minutes with it and went back to my old laptop and I was lost. Thats how quick it was to pick up. Bought a new wireless router too. AirPort Express. Up and running in no time.

Joker will be happy to see this. :142smilie

Which model did you get? Do you notice any difference in speed when you're on the Net as compared to your PC.

Its a LOT faster. I got the 13" model. I only use it for e-mail, Internet and I-Tunes. I might trade it in for the 15" model. I just doubt its worth another $600.

Thanks for the info. I've been looking at Macs a lot lately because my PC is on its last legs, and also because Joker and Kickserv will likely hunt me down and skin me alive if I get another PC.

Yeah, the price jumps with Macs is insane. The 15' screen is only slightly bigger and some of the internal components appear to be slightly better than the 13', but $600 more seems a bit much.

What kind of periodic maintenance do you guys do on your Macs? Is it just clearing out cookies and temp files?

I don't even do updates....actually now that I think about it - I have it set automatically - go to preferences and click on updates. The set it up to update automatically.

One more thing - try putting your Mac to sleep instead of shutting down.

Mac's operate much differently than PC's when it comes to sleeping/hibernating.

Mac's can wake up and sing like a hummingbird as PC's encounter problems.

Shut down your mac once every week or two weeks.

Well you are the only one.......so I'll rephrase then.

One you go MAC (except for LDB) you will never go back:SIB

Also.......Trampled Underfoot, if you watch movies or tv shows download these two programs (if your MAC does not have em):

VLC Media Player for MAC (Version Version 0.9.9a)

and

QuickTime Player for MAC (Version Version 7.6.6)

One BIG difference between these new Powerbooks and older Macs is the battery life. You can run these much longer unplugged than before, which is terrific at times.

I LOVE mine. Running PC software with Parallels desktop, seamless integration mode, no difference in performance whatsoever. But I've loved my Macs for many moons now - the new plus is running the PC stuff with no loss of performance - just another reason the Mac is safer and gives you a great platform for computing.

Yeah, 10 hours is unbelievable. I rarely take my laptop anywhere but it would be nice knowing I could use it for damn near half a day without charging it if I had to...
