Food and Women

There are two basics you need to know about NO, the first
is the most important, don't eat for three days before you
go, because you will gain 50 pounds in two days, THERE IS
NOT A BAD PLACE TO EAT IN AWLINS....PERIOD....some may
be better than others, but they ALL KICK ASS....#2, don't
even let strippers or hookers cross your mind.....you'd be
better off f#cking a bull elephant, it would LOOK MORE
APPEALING......:scared

If you want to spend some money then try out any of Emerils restaurants...and breakfast at Cafe Du Monde is a "must"...beignets in the morning in Jackson Square is just about as N.O. as you get. Watchout late at nite on Bourbon. Lots of randoms walking around looking to take advantage of you so keep your wallet in yoru front pocket...its a great time though. You wont feel in danger, just be careful.

breakfast at Brennans: if you like eggs benedict, try some there. The Gold Club has some worthy babes. bourbon street is one big decadent sideshow coated in vomit. I always take a lot of slim jims or juicy fruit to carry around and when the runaways ask for your pocket change you can just hand them a beef stick or two. they need the nourishment. If you give them money, they will just go get shit pierced.

usually churn the hours away at harrahs and then go have a hand grenade, then the famous bar where you get the hurricane. I ask the piano player(s) if they can do some Allman Brothers and they say they will try. but they never do.

New Orleans is my favorite city. I was gonna go for the Sugar Bowl (if USC was playing) but now I will be at the Rose Bowl. I have visited New Orleans about 4 times. Its a great city if you like to eat and drink. Also a lot of history there to see. Here is a list of things i enjoyed.

"Restaurants"

Nola's
Reasonable price, very good food, emerald is the owner/chef, $20 a plate

Mr. B's Bistro
BBQ SHRIMP, that is what i always get, its fantastic

Gallatoir
Very good food, $20 - $25 plate, BEEF is EXCELLENT

"Dessert"

Cafe Du Mond
Famous for Beignets (like a powder donut). Very nice to go walk over there and sit and eat. Very popular place and nice to sit outside.

"Breakfast"

Brennans's
Pre-Fix breakfast, menu set, $35
TURTLE SOUP, ENTREE, DESERT- Banana Foster
MUST GO THERE, very very good, but expensive.

Court of 2 sisters is a very good brunch as well.

I LOVE TO DRINK, and if you do too, New Orleans is the place to be. There are 3 drinks i stuff myself with because you basically only can get them in New Orleans.

Hurricane, Mint Julep (my favorite), and SAZERAC. These are the 2 best places to get these drinks.

Pat O' Briens
Famous for the Hurricane and Mint Julep

FAIRMOUNT HOTEL, famous for the SAZERAC

Now I am not sure if you enjoy history/sightseeing but New Orleans is famous for Plantations. I have toured maybe 5-7 of them, with my parents. My mom really like them, so maybe your wife is also interested.
If you are only going to see one, def. go see Oak Alley Plantation. The tours are interesting and not that expensive. This Oak Alley Plantation is a sight to see with the OAK TREE's all line up in a row.

Things i have done in my last 3 times staying there........
Paddle Boat on Miss. River tour
Cemetery interesting to see (only daytime)
Flea Market
St. Charles Cathedral
Harrah's Casino
Aquarium (albino Alligator)

You do a lot of walking and sightseeing in the French Quarter and many open shops. Very fun city to walk around. Maybe go into a club to hear some jazz. Eat a PO BOY (i like catfish and shrimp po boys) for lunch. Also always enjoy bringing home peanut brittle too.

Hope you have a fun trip and don't hesitate to ask if you want to know anything more about New Orleans.

FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You'll definately eat like a king....

There are no bad restaurants anywhere.

Ricks isn't a terrible strip joint, at least for NO standards...

New Orleans in a nutshell!! Funny, sad and informative!! The city is built BELOW SEA LEVEL; Right Next to a river that is the largest in the nation and often floods. Even RAIN, must be pumped uphill to the river. Grave yards bury people ABOVE ground!! One of the highest CRIME rates and LOWEST incomes in the Nation per capita!! All things are not what they seem; BEWARE of Female Impersonators!! We are all allowed to carry guns here in the South!! To quote one of Chanman's opening pick up lines for strippers you meet in New Orleans, you might open with "Nice Tooth!!"

Things to do and see: Eat, drink, party, check the bars on Bourbon street for high water marks on the walls.

My last suggestion is for you to contact Gator at Cajun-Sports. He advertises here and post here and his business is across the river from New Orleans, in Harvey, La.

Keep it Positive, Topdog

New Orleans
I've lived here alll my life, except my 5 years @ LSU, and I find the can't miss lunch spots are Mother's and Uglesich's.

For Dinner You must try Bayona on Dauphine it is a great restaurant, as is Galatoire's. Irene's on Dauphine, I think, is a quaint spot to bring your Lady. No reservations at Galatoires or Irenes. The list is endless, there are 50 great restaurants in this town. I personally avoid all of the Emeril's establishments including NOLA, Emerili's, Delmonico. They are all very good retaurant's, but Emeril gets under my skin for some reason.

If you are looking as many New Orleanians to get 'sloshed' try Santa Fe on Frenchman St. The Maragrita Perfect will knock you out and the food is quite solid.

Pat O Brien's is so tourist that I haven't been there in 5 years. Monday nights there is great local music(Papa Grows Funk) at the Maple Leaf on Oak St. Tipitina's has more good local music on thurthday Dec 18th---Porter, Yamaguchi and Vidacovich.

Enjoy your stay in the Crescent City.:weed:

I too enjoy a good Sazerac and the Fairmont makes the best. Last weekend in Atlanta I tried to get the Tender @ Bones to make one. I gave instructions, but it was a disaster.

What are your New Orleans ties???
