Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
Other than the expected negative GOP ads, I think he ran a good campaign with what he had to work with.

What hurt him the most was the "Angry old guy appearance" along with the Bush Legacy and Palin.

When he appeared on MNF he was actually the funny guy at the party. Too bad his campaign came across as stodgy old grump.

He missed his political window 8 years ago.

I wish he would have been the candidate and elected president instead of the embarrasment we endured for 8 long years.

Now you have a changing of the guard, hopefully new ideas and hopes that continue to keep America the promise for all.

One thing good, is we will no longer have to put up with pained, deer in headlight, Presidential speeches and the many, many,
"Bushism'" words that it spawned.

Obama sure can talk the talk...hopefully, he can walk the walk.

I've always been a big fan of mccains. the reason he missed his chance 8 years ago was because bush bombed him in south carolina and threw him under the bus.

picking palin was an insult to anyone with a brain. and in fact, it was unfair to her because she was so unqualified.

More like renewed respect for McCain. I am not sure who that guy campaigning was. But last night was a great speech. Hopefully, Obama will be able to shut down
Pelosi and be President for everyone.

he was without a doubt thee worst possible republican candidate that the gop could have put forward....

like palin or not,he needed her to get some of his base back...if not foe her,he would have had trouble breaking 30/35%....

this was painfully obvious when the liberal msm endorsed him as the republican candidate...

mission accomplished..

he was weak...on the defensive...a lousy debater....

he made horrible decisions..like allowing political neophyte palin to be interviewed by liberal journalists like couric and gibson without any agreement regarding editing of the interviews or pre-conditions...

thats breathtakingly stupid and shaped the perception of palin from the very beginning...

he took issues off the table that would have been crucial in framing obama as a person and a candidate...

of course you liberals loved him....isn`t that the point?...

the msm got it..thats why the endorsed him...he was a campaign buffoon...

Since most of you think all are problems are because of the Republicans, especially Bush, everything will all be solved now that the Dems are in. Pelosi, yea she's gotten many things accomplished since taking office.

One more thing, when Obama lets the Bush tax break expire in 2010 watch your take home pay. By the way Obama, this WILL BE considered a tax INCREASE.

I heard that the Star Spangled Banner is being replaced by the theme from The Jefferson's.

the base didn't go anywhere.... the base is what held and will hold the rebublican party back. I believe the same is true for the democratic party.. If Obama wants a chance to be a great leader. He will stick it to pelosi & reid the first chance he gets... He needs to distance himself from these anti American Working People forces and align with the People. The cowards on both sides will do what ever they have to , to protect their asses and fall in line. Obama can set the tone early... Him & the America People against most of the trash in washington.

you are exactly right....guys like mccain and bush are the reason why the republican party is in deep trouble...

"soft" republinism...soft on immigration...on border security...soft on the supreme court nominations... wrong headed on issues like gitmo and waterboarding...

speaking of gitmo...here...

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/03/us/03gitmo.html?_r=1&scp=2&sq=guantanamo bay &st=cse&oref=slogin

isn`t it funny that after years of railing on bush for his mistreatment and unfair detention of the innocent at gitmo, the nyt`s comes out with an article basically saying what a "tough decision the next president faces regarding the remaining gitmo prisoners" and how "dangerous" they are....

lol...what`s changed?....

it`s obvious...they no longer have to skewer bush...now it`s time to carry obama`s water...

NOW,it`s a tough decision...lol

he had no base until he nominated palin...
a bad decision?...yeah probably...but he had no choice...he couldn`t draw flies on the stump...until he nominated palin...

it was a hail mary... a move of desperation....

because mccain held no sway with his own base...

See Tonto has a sense of humor (Sanford & Son).

The rest of you morans don't.

Since 96% of blacks voted for Obama because he's black that's not being racist. But if 96% of white's voted against Obama because he's black, then that would be considered being a racist.

I do have a sense of humor, i'm glad to see a black man win, but i'm not afraid to drop an n-bomb jokingly from time to time, and i do think a lot of people out there are really bent outta shape about a black man winning.

and i think the fact black people were once considered property, and lynched, and forced to have basically no rights, might have something to do with it.
