I haven't posted lately because I have been busy developing intricate spreadsheets for football, hockey and basketball. Each spreadsheet has been designed to evaluate which team holds the edge in at least ten important categories. For example, my NFL and NCAA football spreadsheets include key variables such as special teams, turnover ratio, rush offense, rush defense, notable trends, etc. My new system will make its debut tomorrow night. In the long run, I am confident that these spreadsheets will enable us to make a nice profit. I will be updating my record and units won/lost on a daily basis. Let's see what happens!

RTL,

That's a lot of work, but good handicapping is all about being well-prepared to do battle.

Tremendous contribution to this forum.

Much thanks.

Looking forward to seeing your new system. I have been using the system that djchad brought to our attention with average predicted scored vs. vegas lines. It has been good to me so far, it had Kentucky as it's only 3 star and work well. Look forward to your deal. Thanks and good luck!!!!!!!!!!!:toast:

Louisville Cardinals -370 (moneyline)
Risking 7.5 units

No way Louisville loses this game tonight. This is a huge rivalry game, and the Cardinals won't take Cincy for granted. The Bearcats might cover the number, but they won't win the game straight up. Louisville has owned Cincy in recent years, and the domination will continue tonight.

Good luck!

Not a good start! Did I say Louisville wouldn't take Cincy for granted? Can Ragone play any worse? I blame head coach Smith for not having his guys prepared.

Good luck this weekend!

If you have a high weighting on special teams (and any weighting is high as most handicappers forget about it), Louisville had to be the play. I had Cincy last night because I figured if you focused on punt protection, you can be able to stop a team from blocking your punts. I was very wrong and Louisville could of blown the game wide open early due to a few blocks.

However, the only time I find special team stats is when I read about them in the online papers

Where do you find special teams statistics such as blocked punts - against and for, avg. returns -against and for, etc.?

Bobby,

I plug all of the information into my spreadsheet, and then weigh each category accordingly. I try not to put too much emphasis on any one category. Special teams are very important in the game of football, but it's not something that's going to totally dictate which side I take. You're right, special teams statistics are difficult to find for college football. I don't know where you can find the information you asked about. For college football, I mainly look at the place kicking, especially when I think the game will be close. I watch a lot of college football, so I also try to base my special teams category on what I've seen throughout the year. Hope this helps a little bit. Like I said before, I was way off last night, so people should feel free to fade my system if they want. However, I still believe strongly in this system, and in the long run I am confident that it will be profitable.

Good luck this weekend!
