Where it is real F ing COLD
Fairly new to the site. I see many people posting plays, who are the guys to follow for MLB? I have seen a few that have a following like lucena and extrapolater. I will add some plays and post my record as well. Any insight is appreciated.

Anybody who's put in any time here will have something to offer throughout the course of the season. (very) Long season so we should all have our streaks, good and bad. I've tried to catch on for other sports I can't 'cap and I've found the same things there--ride someone who's hot and back off when cold. Could keep stats, I suppose, but maybe half (or more) post their records anyways and that might just be a waste of time--better to check out any games of interest and see if the number's say anything, maybe checking out some other poster's to see if they like the game.

Maybe not too helpful.
Who's word would you take anyway, though?
Likely only your bankroll's.

You mentioned me and I can warn you right now that I had some killer streaks last year and some pretty bad stretches too. If I remember right, June and July and playoffs might have been my best. My interleague plays were garbage. I probably played too many pricey picks as well; going to be very wary of lines over -150 this year. Maybe some 2-teamers to get my odds better than +100. I'm looking to own totals this year but who isn't?...probably relax there until Mayish.

RAYMOND is good and has been a fixture for years. Popular poster, for sure. I find myself in agreement more times than not, for whatever that's worth. Sometimes he posts some good series matchup reports--I got an idea where they come from but wouldn't play -187 on that guess.

Other good ones too but I can't remember much from last season--kind of in a daze from being a little too obsessed (hope to chill out (some) this year). Destructor D I remember had a killer run come playoff time. Your experience will be your best bet on who to follow.

On that note, from some of your other posts it looks like you follow baseball enough to make your own decisions. It's kind of like, if you go into an unfamiliar restaurant are you going to allow someone else to order for you or are you going to use your better judgement and select what appeals to you by whatever information you can gather? Some advice is good to look for but the responsibility for the choice should be yours. I'm thinking that a full slate of 15 games can be analyzed in about 30 minutes if you're following things fairly closely--maybe an hour if you're following loosely. Your best investment of time will come right there.

I sure don't want responsiblity for somebody else's losses. I'll have enough of my own this season.
(I've got some other twisted motives for posting--challenge included but others still).

That's enough rambling.
Never pay money for a pick is all I can add--you got the web then you've got encyclopedias worth of information on these investitures which gives you your best chance to beat some negative odds that we face.
Jack's site can be a useful place for discussion when faced with indecision but coattailing can be a tricky business.

No shortage of onions there.

Time for some tunes and some

Wise and Wiser, Raymond, Lets Make Money, Tigers and a few others that will post often. You will also see for yourself as the season goes.

I was lurking for 2007 and plan to post plays as well this year so best of luck to you.

Extrap, as he says, gets streaky but has more stats muscle than I've ever seen.
When Tigers streaks, he's excellent, too

Lucena's "first half" plays are great

Limit your plays!!!!!! Or MLB will eat you alive.

Rex is definitely also in the top here.

I know, he does live in California, but just get over that.

Don't follow any jokers with a "sport" as their handle. Same dopes make "million dollar" plays that shit the bed faster than the Mets puked last season.
