With the last three meetings in the series decided by a total of six points I'll play it safe and take on the extra juice. Miami has won the last five in this series and the last sixteen under the lights @ the Orange Bowl. With a more experienced and hopefully improved Berlin, finally a healty Frank Gore who brings a 6.8 yd career average to the table, and with an O-line featuring future top NFL pick OT Eric Winston and senior Chris Myers, coaches are comparing this group to the dominant 2001 squad, and I look for them to control the tempo aganist a less experienced FSU front seven. On the other side of the ball, Miami lost key components from a great front seven last year, but they always reload and return a good deal of experienced players with DT Jr. Orien Harris, DT Sr. Santonio Thomas, DE So. Baraka Atkins, DE Jr. Thomas Carroll, and LB Jr. Robert McIntosh. The strength of the Canes defense is in the secondary with CB Kelly Jennings who split time last year and was the starter in 2002, FS and starting nickel back Brandon Meriweather, SS Greg Threat who had three starts last year, and most importantly the best player on the field for either team and definite first round pick CB Sr. Antrel Rolle. Rolle has not given up a TD in 25 straight games shutdown star WR Larry Fitzgerald vs Pitt last year and held FSU star P.K. Sam to 10 yds receiving. The FSU O-line is in a lot of trouble with starting C David Castillo out as well as starting G Bobby Meeks which means a lot more pressure on Rix and he's been known to play with two hands around his neck vs the Canes.
