Just back from Vegas, another great time. Lots of drunks in the afternoon because of pooltime, but the visuals were amazing. :toast: Unfortunately Celine Dion cancelled show Wednesday because of illness, as well as all her shows this week. Ang was bummed.

This week I am taking Customers to NYC Manhattan to our "Visual Center" where we have a mock lab for them to see all the instruments. This is new because the one we have in ATL is being renovatedCan any locals suggest a hidden, out of the way great place for dinners Wednesday or Thursday?

Going to high end is fine, but if you truly have eaten at a great place RECENTLY please let me know. Greatly appreciated. We can cab it anywhere.

Lastly, girls want to know if there are still places in Chinatown/Little Italy/SOHO that sell purses that are Name brand but replicas?, i.e. Chanel, Prada, LV, ? Thanks again.

For the love of God, please go eat at Katz's Deli. Get the Reuben. Best one in the east. Katz's is a Jewish deli and everything is Kosher. Super great food even if you don't get the Reuben.

Also, I always stay a night in my hotel and order Chinese. Best Chinese is any Manhattan take out. Just chill in your room if you've been out all day. If thats not you thing, try Tavern On The Green in Central Park. Great food, but I think the best is their breakfast.

That's all I got. I've only been four times. Last time I looked at a Zagat's and ate at a real Manhattan Restaurant with a chef trying to make a name for himself. While it was good, I didn't love it. I'd do it again though just to try something new. :0008

If you want to eat in a steakhouse New Yorkers eat in as opposed to a tourist joint, Uncle Jacks Steakhouse is the place. There is a location on the West Side on Ninth Avenue and another in Midtown on West 56th. Steaks are terrific and the vibe is good and not touristy.

As for Canal Street (Chinatown/Little Italy} , yes you can't walk 10 feet without being approached to buy counterfeit vuitton, Prada, gucci, Rolex, etc etc etc.
Canal Street is a little gross(even as a native New Yorker) but...you can get some nice things there.
If you are downtown, walk around the financial center (new tower, lots of little bars)

Is this the Steak House that's on some of the Food Shows? Like a 3 week wait for reservations and serves Kobe Beef and aged steaks?

One of the best restaurants that I have ever eaten in was Le Bernadin (sp?)....

My sales manager took my wife & I there many years ago & we tried the tasting menu....

it was very expensive & an unbelievable experience....

Our favorite steakhouse is Peter Lugers (sp?) located in Williamsburgh Brooklyn....

Do a google search under NYC restaurants & a page should pop up listing restaurants with reviews....

Also check the Zagat Guide for NYC....

Have a great time....Miss my city....

I agree that Katz's is a great restaurant, but a Reuben is not a kosher dish because it has meat with cheese....

And Katz's Restaurant is not a kosher restaurant....

Wow, you ate ate Riperts restaurant? Awesome. There actually is a great article in Wine Spectator this month you will enjoy on Le Bernardin and how meticulous he is with choosing food items. And, his two-mile walk across Central Park as his commute to work. Nice.
