Wizzard of Odds and Billy Barooooooo had both sent me messages about their discovery that the STEAM MOVES (which are in my opinion a pretty good indicator of syndicate action) always seemed to do better during the week and do poorly during the weekend.

It got me to thinking and I asked each of them for more input from their viewpoints.

Well, last night I went back and started putting all the moves into a database (I only had them in text form). My original intent was to go back to the beginning of the season, but I discovered that was more effort than I could reasonably put into it. I did go back to the All-Star break and what Wizzard of Odds descibes in the above linked thread seems to be fairly accurate.

If you go to the STEAM MOVES for Monday post http://www.madjacksports.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/008349.html
I think you will find the day of the week breakdown interesting. These plays appear to be profitable during the week, but almost worth fading on weekends.

What could cause this phenomenon? The trigger for these moves is a rapid across the board changes in the odds at multiple stores (currently set at four or more offshore books moving their lines by 5 cents or more within 15 seconds). The public isn't going to create that kind of sudden change.

I have changed the name from STEAM PLAYS to STEAM MOVES. I will keep posting the results by day of the week now that I have the database started. Any other input would be appreciated.
