Kansas City area for who knows how long....
Calgary Sun reports Vernon didn't practice due to groin/upper leg injury from Detroit game. Decision to start against TB will be made after treatment today. "Gilbert said he'd probably be OK to play tonight" If not, Kay Whitmore will be ready to go.

With that and suspensions and letdown after big win, TB +170 looks better.

Wig, things fine in SanMarco, but up in the big A today using 'net at UT. I leave to Maine for the holiday time with the family Sat.
No nice TX weather there! But my bro just got roadrunner.

good to hear terryray, do you come into austin much? i live very close to campus--

la times reports giguere in net for ducks...

also Defenseman Keith Carney took another step toward returning to the lineup. He practiced with the team Tuesday, going through all the drills.

"We'll see how it responds tomorrow," Carney said. "If I don't have any pain, hopefully I can play in the next couple days."

Carney has missed 16 games after breaking a bone in his right hand Nov. 7. The Ducks were 6-7-2 at the time. They are 3-10-2-1 since. Center Matt Cullen, after playing in the Mighty Ducks' first 29 games, was a healthy scratch the last two games and seems likely to make it three in a row tonight when the Ducks face Vancouver.Coach Bryan Murray said that Cullen has been scratched, in part, to give center Andy McDonald a "good look." But Murray acknowledged there are other reasons as well.

fla.....

Right winger Pavel Bure, who suffered a concussion in that game, participated in a full practice for the first time in three weeks Monday. And center Jason Wiemer has finished his seven-game suspension for butt-ending Maple Leafs forward Darcy Tucker on Nov. 19.

Coach Mike Keenan labeled Bure's practice "great.''

"He was skating pretty well for a guy that hasn't been on the ice for a long time,'' Keenan said. "He looked like he was moving pretty well. I talked to him after. He said he had a little bit of a headache, but he finished practice, and that was a fairly intense practice. We'll see if there is any reaction today, but I suspect that he'll be training again [today]."

Bure, who has eight goals and seven assists, said he's not 100 percent. He's still experiencing mild headaches but has been cleared by doctors after passing a neurological test Tuesday.

Bure had problems riding an exercise bike last week, but he said his head is feeling much better.

For the past three days the intensity of the headaches have lessened, so to determine whether he's making progress, Bure will gauge today how Monday's skate affected him.

"You have to go out and try it to see how your head is going to respond," Bure said. "Is it going to get worse? It might go away or stay at the same level."

Wiemer has been practicing with the team during his suspension.

He said sitting out three weeks watching his team struggle to a 2-5 record has been frustrating. His absence has forced defenseman Paul Laus to play forward. With his return Laus will likely go back to defense.

Wiemer doesn't expect to try to do too much in his first game back because he believes it will take him a couple of games to regain his timing.

Keenan said he doesn't know where Wiemer fits in because two games into his new coaching job he's still evaluating talents.

"I don't know if he's best suited on wing or center," Keenan said. "It's a forward position, but I'm not really sure."

KOZLOV QUESTIONABLE

Center Viktor Kozlov, who missed Saturday's game with a groin injury, had a limited skate before practice.

The Panthers want to give Kozlov an opportunity to heal, which is why Keenan listed him as questionable for Wednesday.
