what do you like about them ?

Philly stinks, they were so lucky Favre just threw up that
air ball pretty much giving the game away.

BBC, we all like something. We just hope to have the edge, in the end. So to speak.

Scotty 2 Times,

I think that Carolina will implode on the offensive end of the ball next weekend. Philadelphia's defense is much better than they showed tonight. Overall, although up and coming, they are not nearly the team that Philly is.

I see multiple turnovers by Caorlina, or at least one key one that changes this game and the spread.

I always look to the dog first, especially a dog more than 3 points, but I like Philly in this spot.

I don't think i've bet more than 2 favs more than 3 pts this year in the NFL, but i'm on this one.

I just had a dream that told me New England - Carolina.

Doesn't Philly's run defense scare you a little? It's been like that all year and they have been successful due to their red zone defense, they can't keep winning. Or maybe they can, but there's no way I can back them. Seeing McNabb on the bench at the end of the game, he had already given up.

Manning's on fire, but Belichek has had his number and Brady should have been the MVP. My only concern is that Belichek really looks comfortable when he's wearing his hoody, and if the temps keep low, he'll have to go to the earmuffs again.

It doesn't seem even reasonably fathomable that Carolina dould make it to the Super Bowl. I don't think that it is possible to make a solid case for the POanthers, but stranger things have happened. Davis should be able to get plenty of yards on the ground which might keep them in the game. Philly benefited from some big Packer blunders and didn't impress me at all. But beating Carolina should be easier than taking on the Pack.

With Carolina as a primary running team that focuses on time of possession and with a defense better than that of the pack, looking at the under as far as the total is concerned. Honestly didn't think the line for the game would be quite that high considering the performance of both teams this week and as far as playing at home, is it really an advantage after this weeks results? Maybe not?

I know Carolina maybe thinks of themselves as a primary running team (?) but Delhomme is averaging about 280 yds in the last two playoff games. Thats not too bad. I like Carolina here.

I think you may have mistook given up for trying to keep warm.

I can't see Philly winning against either AFC team in the Super Bowl.

Got to check injuries on Philly as several defensive players
went out. Not sure status.

Kosar, why do you like Philly? Panthers should keep this a 3 point game with their running attack

Carolina's playbook boasts the 9th highest OVER 20 YD Pass Plays. For those of you keeping score at home...that's more than Indy ;)

Explosive recievers along with a good running game, and a stout defense will challenge any team in the NFL. GL Fellas.

BBC,

Yes, to some extent, the Philly run defense concerns me. But not that much in this one game situation. I think what this comes down to is experience in this spot and Philly has it and Carolina doesn't. Let alone the game is in Philly. Overall, for years, I haven't been a big fan of laying many points with Philly because they generally manage to keep things close, for better or worse.

I see this Carolina team as being very similar to Tampa back about 7 or 8 years ago. They are close to being a great team, with a very good defense, but not quite there yet. As I mentioned above, I think that Carolina will struggle on offense in a big way.

This is Philadelphia's 3rd straight Conference Championship game and I believe this is their year to break through, in at least a big enough way to cover this number.

Along with bbc's comments, Bomber, ace, spiro and hogman all make great points in support of the other side. However, in a one game situation with a home team with tons of experience against a team with a hurt RB and an uproven in these situations QB , I don't put much emphasis on things like 'most pass completions over 20 yards'. I don't mean that as a jab, but it just doesn't matter to me.

Whatever the case, GL to everybody this weekend.

Agree with Kosar,Philly has been the best in the NFC this year, and will cover and advance. There are many reasons to look at Carolina, but I,too, feel the wheels come off for them offensively, costing them some cheap points early, putting them behind, and making their o more predictable. It has all been their way the first two playoff games, but not this week.GL either way
