History says that Road favorites are 4-1 in Championship games both SU and ATS. The 49ers could add to that history today with a win.
Turnovers will be HUGE today. The 49ers have lost 4 games this year, ALL of which they were minus in the turnover department!! This is a strength of the Falcons. Atlanta has had only 4 turnovers the past 6 games while creating 14 on defense during that same time frame. Kaepernick looked super human in the Division game but this will be his 1st road playoff game. Not an easy task for anyone. Atlanta will almost need to abandon the run and keep the ball moving through the air. Their run game will be all but non-existent, leaving the Falcons one dimensional.
In domes this year, San Fran is mediocre at best going 2-2.
If the Niners can hold onto the ball, they will win this game. They will control the pace of the game with a strong running attack and a stifling defense. The Seahawks moved the ball at will in the 2nd half against Atlanta as the defense became tired. The Falcons defense will run out of gas much more quickly today against a big strong offense that will pound it North and South as well as spread the line out with their mobile QB..
One final stat to go along with the 4-1 Road favorite one. The Atlanta Falcons are an unfathomable 1-19 SU as home dogs of greater than 3 points and only 4-16 ATS. The Falcons have been tough at home, unless they have a tough opponent.
