FYI.....I agree on ice fishing....never done it but have no interest!! I have however been to Great Slave twice in early August when ice thaws and did some killer Lake Trout fishing thru Plummers Artic lodges. My guide once was a guide for Lake of the Woods and fished walleyes for many years before. Nothing like a pool in the water and a cold beer!!

Had an Uncle...Tippy, we called him....had an old "Hudson" I believe, 4 door old huge tank of a car,
he removed the back seats and cut a hole in the floorboards.
A bunch of my uncles would drive onto Lake Erie and ice fish..
