True that is odd to be saying it early. To be honest, I consider myself an agnostic in regards to games being fixed but the strangest stuff seems to happen in basketball more than any other sport. :look:

I played D1 baseaball and minor league ball, i have 3 good friends who play in the show and numerous buddys in the nfl. Games are fixed from time to time. Know this as a fact, not something that is or should be talked about to often. Fixing games is not something you will here about, if lots of people knew about the game in question it would never work. Anyway didnt mean to interupt your thread but if anyone thinks games are not fixed you need to go back to your drawing board and think about it.

good luck to you Mize

If Steve and Don can get this kind of info maybe they will become scamdicappers and sell it to us. Or better yet give it to Anthony and he can put a million on it at halftime.

Just out of curiousity, who is it that is fixing the games? Are there professional players who are crucial enough to decide the outcomes of games, but who are not getting paid enough to resist a bribe by gamblers? A field goal kicker could miss a game-winner on purpose I suppose if he needed the money, but it seems impossible to predict that a game would come down to that. Are there starting quarterbacks/running backs that desperate for money that they would take that chance?

If the leagues are fixing games for some reason, wouldn't some player involved write a book several years later spilling the beans, like athletes do with steroid use and other things?

Just seems hard to believe that no one would ever tell......

I sure hope ya'll are right about games being fixed because that means that maybe its someone else's fault and not my own that my dumbass went 10-2 on sat. and then lost it ALL by going 1-6 on sun.

i just think that it was my own incompetence for losing an assload of money yesterday and not that the games are fixed.

GLTA tonight

not many teams go through the season undefeated.

not many teams go through the season winless either.

ALL teams are going to lose at some point. guaranteed!

week in and week out we see close games that on paper
SHOULD NOT be very close.

i guess my OPINION is on "any given sunday" shiit happens.

it is a mental game!! FIX? no! UNLESS we lose $$$

:D

On the course!
Could they have been talking about OT dut to the fact that there was minimal scoring in the game? I often hear the guys in the booth say something about OT when the game is slow paced......this was no different.

John, how dare you to even think such a thing. But thank goodness there are plenty of people here to straighten you out even tho you are a consistant winner in all sports. Good luck tonight. Looks like you're going to need it. Fixed? I can't believe any one would think a thing like than about high profile sports wagering.

How Much Do you Think

How Much Do you Think

a Player would receive should he fix a game? $50,000, $100,000?

Are you trying to say that someone would risk there lively hood when they are pulling down 100's of thousands for that kind of money. College I can believe it, but on the pro level it is difficult, but not impossible.

I would think, if you get a QB, Kicker, DB, Punter, Punt Returner it is very possible. As dumb as some of these guys are, I don't think they would risk it. In college that kind of money will talk, but at the pro level, I highly doubt it.

You never know.

Paul Hornung-Alex Karras You Say?

Paul Hornung-Alex Karras You Say?

NFL has problems and that is you don't know what some of these players are doing off the field !

The Jets John Abraham was arrested for Drunk Driving the other day .

ESPN radio said the other day that Tim Hudson was in some nightclub incident Friday nite in Boston, also barry zito was there.

Then Hudson gets his strain..

I guess we should all remember that from time to time we find out a college game or two have been fixed. Mostley I believe BB. But yes it hapens. For us to just say never. And was there not a probe 10/11 years back on a couple of NBA games. So its there but not often.

I dont think games are really fixed in the NFL, but Def. in NBA. However, the fact that there were 2, 2minute warnings in this Bucs Indy game was totally ridiculous. How do they stop it at 2:04 and 1:59. fuc*ing ridiculous

there weren't two two-minute warnings.

a personal foul in the last 5 minutes of the game stops the clock. as such, the clock stopped at 2:04. This wasn't a 2 minute warning. the 2 minute warning came at 1:59 after the play following the personal foul.
