RB Eddie Lacy - Green Bay Packers

Everyone says the Packers got the "steal of the draft" or their "Franchise RB" Hogwash, they got nothing but a big effing bust. The guy already has a hamstring problem trying to get out of the shower. Seriously? How can anyone evaluate this guy coming from Bama. Didn't their entire draft eligible line get drafted in the first 15? The others would of but they are still in school. ANY RB in division 1 college football could run behind those guys. Remember Ron Dayne? Same type of situation. A slow runner running behind a bunch of road graders. A lot of hype, there is a reason the guy slid to the late second round. He may pan out but just as good of chance busting. Green Bay's offensive line is a joke, have fun running behind all those 4th - 6th round offensive linemen the Pack drafted today. Let's see how the guy runs on the same playing field. The only little bit of success the Pack ever have running is because teams are scare shitless of the pass.

I was glad the Packers went the route they did. Of coarse every one here wants to suck Thompson off, but his last 3 drafts have been mediocre to well below average. He lives off the cottails of Rodgers arm. This team couldn't stop the run last year, it's defense is horrible and they did very little this off season to improve on that. Keep betting Packer's overs cause they won't stop anybody.

You have to remember, Eddie Lacy got few carries until last 2 yrs at Bama. He may emerge as good a runner as Richardson was for the Browns imho!!

Also, the Harris kid for the Packers did a great job with the injuries and lack of running game the Packers had last year, that won't happen this year.

My bust will be Fisher out of Central Michigan, he played vs non-elite competition and the pro game is alot quicker than the MAC, Tony Mandarich found out how much the NFL was bigger than what he played against when he was at MSU!!

Sleeper will be the TE that went last, Mr Irrelevant, Cunningham, he may not be quick, but he catches the ball and is a beast on the run blocking.

What a shocker..You just happen to find the PACKERS as taking the biggest bust in the draft....Maybe you should do what i do and wait 2-3 years and see what happens....i get a kick out of anyone on here or the so called experts on tv telling us who had this awesome draft and who hasn't....It's a big crap shoot and to say some teams had a great draft before any of these kids have ever played a down in the NFL is ludicrus. Every year i laugh at these idiots GRADING the picks....I hope Lacy works out but if not that's okay as well..They dd take another RB from UCLA so if one pans out and does very good i won't complain at all....GB already won a SB just over 2 years ago without a running game so it's not the end of the world if they don't have one....Anything is better than having Ponder running the show. :toast:

Really??? Take a look and u will see there are plenty of O-lineman in the NFL that aren't from bigtime schools......No clue how Fisher will pan out but u cannot compare him to Mandarich..Tony played against soild teams in college but just happen to be a bust...

I knew I could induce you into a thread. A co worker of mine doesn't even watch college football and he was telling me how great a draft the Packers had. I asked him who they drafted and he said a lineman from Colorado. I said how the hell do you know if they had a good draft? He said "they drafted what they needed." I said every team drafts what they need. I get a kick out of Mel talking about every player's upside and raw talent. Hell we should have a drinking game for when its mentioned, be one hell of a drunk. For all I know every first round pick the Vikes took could be a bust, highly unlikely but they could. Nobody knows, but I do like to stir the pot,,, that I do know

I hear ya..I get sick of everyone telling me how great all these picks were or how bad...Like i said in 3 years talk to me and we shall see how it played out....Just because a team picks a NEED doesn't mean it was a great pick....I'm happy overall with what GB took BUT who knows how many if any will be real good.

Exactly..

The year the Packers took Rodgers, I think they had an A grade. Minny took Williamson and Erasmus James and a decent tackle prospects, they gave the Vikings an A for the draft and were talking how great the Vikes did retooling after Moss was traded. All Players were busts and NOBODY from that draft lasted past their rookie contracts. That draft was a killer

So. Cal
i'll take a stab and just go with 1st round busts in each half of the round:

picks 1-16:

well, I was just going to take one but I love these 3 to be busts as they fit the profile....limited reps, limited productivity (or only 1 year)

dion Jordon
Ezekiel ansah
barkevious mingo

i'd also toss in:

Sheldon Richardson
ej manuel

picks 17-32 (same theory)

kyle long
coradelle Patterson

if I had to pick 1 from each grouping:
dion Jordon and coradelle patterson

Patterson had a good chance of busting and a good chance of blowing up.

I read one Mock that had Sharrif going 3, Patterson 8, and Rhodes 14. I would love for all 3 to be Pro Bowlers. One thing I do like about Patterson is that Jennings is already telling him how much work "they" need to do.

This draft for the Vikings could make them division winners shortly

hey bp don't know squatch about the lacy kid but the championship game i gotta say i was very impressed with the way the kid hit the hole was punishing people we'll see emmitt ran a 4.5 i believe so the 40 time is overrated did have all those hogs up front his whole career though makes a hell of a difference geez if a.p. had had emmitt's line it would be illegal

Yeah Lacy looked great against ND and a lot of teams. Ron Dayne did too with his offesive line.

If AP had the equivalent of the Cowboys line he would get 2500 yards.

I am biased but I think AP is the best back I have seen.

I think geno will do nothin in the league.

Doesn't have that killer instinct IMO

He put up huge numbers in games where defense was an afterthought and often times he was up or down 20+ in those games.

Think he is terrible nfl qb

Barkley will be a winner. Lots of really educated football minds say different, but just a year ago he was a top 10 pick.

Kid can play. And he has that attitude I think a QB needs...he wants to be the best...badly...

Jarvis jones will also be a star. Exactly what this steeler team needed and he has a motor on him.

Couple rbs I like:

Burkhead- will have a woodhead type career

John franklin- think he becomes feature back

Leveon bell- huge talent and anyone will get a chance to run on that team

Other picks I liked:

Kevin minter at LB....think he becomes a star

Terrence williams at wr- can't believe I'm agreeing with JJ

Kenny stills- brees throwin the rock means he will have plenty oppurtunities early

I agree with your running back picks and also think Montee Bell and Stephan Taylor have a chance to be productive for their teams.

I disagree with Barkley as I just don't think he has the arm strength to be successful. He had two of the top receivers in CFB and was not that productive last year. Maybe (as he does now) he can blame it on Kiffin which is easy to do as he is a terrible coach but, I don't think his performance on the field merits him being a #1 pick and I don't think it predicts his future NFL peformance.

Also...the legacy of USC QB's in the NFL has to count for something and that something is very negative.

My first round bust is Sheldon Richardson as his big mouth wasn't supported by his play on the field as, in many games, you wouldn't even know he was in the game.

I think EJ Manuel has a chance to be a starting QB in the NFL but, the Bills took him way too early.

I think Bell will have a great career in Pittsburgh. One of those perfect fits IMO.

As for the Pack. I said at the draft that Franklin will be the better back when all is said and done over Lacy. Sure its hard to make these types of predictions, but its fun to look back after a few years and see.
