New Orleans Saints tight end Ben Watson has put up some pretty good numbers this season and has been one of the highest scoring players at his position in fantasy football leagues, bringing a smile to the faces of Watson owners.
But this is a bit ridiculous.
According to a report in the Washington Post, the Saints TE told a podcast earlier in the week that a Washington Redskins player thanks Watson for helping his fantasy team when the 'Skins and Saints squared off last week.

?But one of the players from the opposing team told me ?Thank you,? during the game, for helping his fantasy team. So fantasy has permeated into the entire NFL. Guys are playing fantasy football; some guys I think even play fantasy baseball. I don?t get involved with it. I have five kids, I just don?t have time. Not that anything?s wrong with the fantasy, but I just don?t have time for it, with my lifestyle.?
As pointed out by Dan Steinberg in the Post's article, the player must have been referring to previous Watson performances since he managed only three catches for 19 yards and no touchdowns against Washington.
Watson did not name the player.
