Despite Christian Ponder putting on an impressive showcase in the Week 17 win over the Packers, he still must prove that he can be consistent on a week-to-week basis. Minnesota remains one of the worst passing offenses in the league, so expect the Pack to hover eight or nine defenders around the box to stop Peterson.

The idea is to force Ponder to beat them in outdoor conditions?something that is more favorable to Aaron Rodgers.

Possessing greater offensive balance, Green Bay should work downfield to stretch Minnesota' secondary and set up the run. After all, the Packers averaged 4.5 yards per rush on Sunday and nearly won the possession battle.

The Vikings also aren't overly dominant in any one defensive aspect,

This pretty much sums up this game.

Green Bay rolls them

Lambeau Field is one big advantage because Christian Ponder won't dominate off play-action in outdoor weather. Green Bay also needs to keep eight or nine guys around the box and play man coverage elsewhere.

Completely focusing on Peterson will certainly make them vulnerable to the pass; however, forcing Ponder to outplay Aaron Rodgers is to the Pack's advantage. Minnesota has allowed a 63.9 completion percentage and has recorded only 10 picks this season.

Green Bay and Rogers have been in this position too many times to lose a game in Lambeau.

Ponder is not anywhere near the QB at this time in his career to bring down GB in a playoff game.

Quarterback Christian Ponder has started 26 games in a row for the Vikings. That streak may end Saturday night, just in time for Minnesota?s playoff game at Green Bay.

Ponder, who is dealing with elbow bursitis in his right (throwing) arm, is highly questionable for the wild-card round. And Dan Wiederer of the Star-Tribune tweeted at around 4 p.m. ET Saturday that ?it is ?looking more likely? Joe Webb will start ??

There?s almost no telling how the Ponder-for-Webb swap might impact the Vikings? upset bid. Webb did not attempt a single pass this season, as he stayed glued to the bench behind Ponder. Webb?s last legitimate game action came in Week 17 last season, when he completed 17 of 32 passes in a 17-13 loss to the Chicago Bears.

Neither Webb nor Ponder has any playoff experience ? the Vikings failed to make the playoffs last year in Ponder?s rookie season.
