I'd love to have played the Jets but just couldn't. Here is why Last time these two teams played in the Meadowlands Indy won 45-24 E James ran for 135 yards and two touchdowns. However, of late the Colts have had a hard time with their running game, because James has not played the same as he did before blowing out his knee. The Colts will need to run the ball to keep New York?s defense honest , but Indy?s success will come down to the play of Manning to Harrisson. If the Colts can run they will be effective & they will be able to throw the ball, if not they are in deep sh-t. Manning can be rattled into throwing int?s & he will have to battle the harsh winds at the Meadowlands.
New York?s defense has surrendered a lot of yards this season 341 yards per game, 24th in the NFL. So it's up to their offense to play well if they are to win this game. Although they made the play-offs Pennington said you also have to remember that we are still just a 9-7 team. Smart man!! I think that either team can win this game, it all depends on the breaks and the Refs. These two points will decide who wins or loses. When teams are evenly matched the best coarse is to take the points. All I've been reading is that the points won't decide if we win or lose, just pick the winner. I can't buy into that, think back on how many times you lost because of just a half point. I'm taking the points here.
Read this on Mon.
Play off home teams have covered at a 78 percent rate along with 70 percent going under the total. Last year all 4 Wildcard games were decided by double digits. Although the Falcon's have beaten Green Bay 5 in a row during the regular season in the last play off game they met they were beat by 17 points. This game may be a little closer but how much closer is hard to say.
Read this on an other form.
In the NFL Playoffs you want to play the team with a higher winning percentage than their opponent if their the Under dog. They must be the Under dog! Going into last year it was 19-3! Indy 10-6 & Jets 9-7. Indy +6 is the play according to this system. I'm sorry we are not on the same side I'd feel a lot better if we were. I hope you enjoy the games Again good luck on your plays.

Joe....interesting take on the game...especially from a New Yorker. Thanks for posting.

I agree with ya on certain areas in this one, but feel more less that the situations are way too overpowering to go against the Jets in this one. Wish I had some extra time to get into everything, but I'm a little pressed for time here.

As far as the just picking the winner thing. I do actually believe in that to a degree. Of course more times than not the spread doesn't even come into play, however this year might be an exception. One thing I do have from my notes on this game is this:

In Indy's 6 losses, they were lost by an average of 11 points.
In the Jets 9 wins, they won by an average of 14.6 points

Now this tells you something in itself, but also throw in the fact that the Jets are at home in the playoff atmosphere, I think it's gonna be an easy cover as I had the Jets winning this without these numbers as well.

As far as that system goes, I don't know. I do understand it and the numbers, but also feel it's a different situation with these 2 teams. Just seems like the Jets are on such a big role playing with so much confidence while Indy's kinda going in the other directions as far as the mental aspect of the team goes.

Wish I had some more time to get into all the keys, but gotta run.

Good luck this playoff season Joe! At least the books won't get both our money today :D Should be interesting!

Congradulations on your play, I'm sure you were well rewarded & Deservedly so. After the first half thank God I saw the light and bet the Jets +.05 for the second half. The point spread looked like a gift and I was a little afraid becase of it but I bet them and was very glad I did. I didn't bail out all the way but what I could of lost would of really hurt. I have to give some of the credit to your post for helping change my mind. Thanks Good Luck today on your bets. Joe

Thanks for the props guys....hopefully Sunday treats everyone well.

JOE IN NY.......thanks for the words. You're pure class and have my respect. I actually wish more people would do a little more "debating" on these games. I rarely change my mind on any games....reason being I like to think I have the game thoroughly capped enough to lay any $$ on it, but that don't mean I'm necessarilly right.....I've been wrong many times before and there has been a few cases where I've bought my bet back from strong info people have posted that I've missed! Always feel free to comment on any games as I always enjoy hearing how others are veiwing or handicapping a particular game .

Might be popping back for a 2nd half play on the games if I see an opportunity.

Good luck to all today :)

which one is your play of the day??

cavy.....really don't have a favorite today. Played them each for a unit which is around 2% of my football bankroll. Think they'r both solid.... but remember nothing's guaranteed in sportsbetting.

TJBELL....Thanks and good luck to you today!

thanks cavy.....but the game's still not over. ;)

Made a very stupid halftime bet on the Browns game which went nothing like I expected, but hopefully the Halftime Giants play makes up for it. We will see.
