This thing is a flat out JOKE this year and that is really saying something considering it is a joke just about every year.
I thought one of the reasons they moved it up was so more people go play in it?? It is WAY less. Now 12 more replacements are needed for those left void from the 2 Super Bowl teams.

PATHETIC

I mean look at the AFC QB's. Schaub ok I thought he deserved to be there over Brady anyway, but now the other 2 QB's are Vince Young and David Garrard. WOW really.

Schaub was on the radio yesterday and said the NFL will announce it is both moving back to week after Super Bowl and back to Hawaii next year.
Back in the day players used to take pride in being a Pro Bowler. Today's generation just doesn't get it.
It is a lame game, but they are making it even more lame and the end should be near if this is how it is going to be done.

I guess that is one way to look at it if you ignore the fact that 4 or 5 other guys said no before they got to VY and Garrard.

haha ya it is pretty ridiculous. Garrard is not pro bowl material and neither is Vince Young.

Junior make your mind up... A few posts ago you related the qb's from the AFC South in the Pro Bowl to being the best division in Pro Football and now you say neither is pro bowl material. Do you have any idea what you are saying?

ya i don't agree with them being in the pro bowl but that isn't my decision. The facts are this:

All 4 are pro bowlers
the AFC south had the best record
They have the 4-time MVP
The have a team in the Superbowl

show me a better division

Houston went 9-7 this season.
Division record was 1-5. Lost all 5 games by a total of 29 points and none by more than 8.
Out of division was 8-2(Road wins @Cincy,@Mia).

This should tell you something about the AFC South.

This year it was best confernece top to bottom.
If you look around at the other normal power divisions then you see down year for NYG and all divisions have a bottom dweller except the AFC South. The AFC North was close but down year for Steelers and the Browns pull it down.

Maybe just maybe besides the Colts the rest of the division was just mediocre. Lets take a look at each team outside of Indy.

Tennessee--- started 0-6 finished 8-8. Pretty respectable you would think until you look at 6 of those wins. Out of conference they beat San Fran, Arizona (w/out Warner), St Louis and Seattle, Buffalo, and Miami. None of those teams would scare anyone by any chance. They lost to Pittsburgh, Jets, NE, and SD so they didnt beat a playoff team in the AFC and only beat one all year which was Arizona at home playing without Warner.

Jax--- 7-9... Losses to Zona, Sea, SF, Mia, NE, and Cle.
Wins OofC include-- SLouis, KC, Jets and Buffalo. So here we have another team that beat 1 playoff team out of their conference all year. The rest of the wins were against teams with losing records and even those wins were by scant margins.

Houston--- 9-7 losses to Jets and Cardinals. Wins against Bengals, Bills, Seattle, SL, Miami, Oakland, SF, NEng. This teams downfall was the losses inside their own conference but I will say that out of the 3 teams Houston seems to be on the right path.

I just am saying that I dont think you can call a division the best when they only get one playoff team and two teams with a winning record. Jax and Tenn are mediocre at best at least this year they were. Indy was by far the class and Houston is making up ground for sure.

Well the main reason they only had 1 playoff team is unlike other divisions they didn't have a Rams/Lions/Redskins/Bucs to kick around twice a year.
The division did have a weaker schedule which helped but last place is 7-9 is tough.
Houston did blow it with missed fg's late it in game after game that could have been one or tow more wins.

If it is not the AFC South then what was the best?

Remember I said top to bottom.
The AFC South was 12-4 vs the NFC which best of any division vs other conference.

That eliminates the following for sure:
AFC West as Raiders/Chiefs sucked
AFC East as Bills/Dolphins as Indy beat NE and Mia before rolling over last 2 weeks. Hou was 3-1 vs East. Tn was 2-2. Jac 2-2.
NFC West- No way
NFC South- No way

Now the rest:
NFC North- is brought down BIG TIME by everyone getting 2 free wins vs Lions.
NFC East- Same as North as Wash was 0-6 in division and the NYG were down and went 4-6 non conf.

That leaves the AFC North. Cincy was up because Pitt was down.
Cincy was 4-6 out of their division.
AFC North vs NFC was 8-8.

Like I said and you kind of pointed out that the non division schedule kind of favored them but based on numbers they were the best top to bottom.

Also if you say they only had 1 playoff team then look at it this way.
If you remove the Jags and insert a Lions/Rams/Bucs type team then Indy and Houston make ithe playoffs and probably even the Titans.

Also remember the Colts were so good that it penciled in 2 losses for every other team in the division before they happened.
Not many other divisions were penciling in losses before the season.
