Washington (ML) over Giants
This looks like a good game, however the directions the two teams is going is different. Washington off a very strong win against Jax, while the giants had to sit around and thing of the beating Seattle handed them. In the games the giants have played they played tough against Indy, got blown out by philly to start and were allowed to come back in the game and they got beaten by Seattle. The giants have not stopped anyone on defense and the skins are just starting to come together on offense. Granted the skins defense against the pass has looked bad they did generate pressure on the qb last week and that is a good sign. The best sign from last week is the play of the Washington Redskins O-line. The "dirt bags" pushed 2 of the best DT in the nfl around and ran over them for a good amount of yards. If this line starts to come together, with the weapons like El, Moss, Cooley, and Portis running the ball Suanders will be able to show what his playbook is all about.

Minny (-6.5) over Det
Minny off a loss, detroit is terrible, the vikes at home, detroit being terrible, the o-line of Minny, detroit being terrible are all good reasons I like this game. Yes Detroit showed some offense last week but it was against the poor St. Louis defense and this is a different monster. Minny has played solid defense and after getting beating last week they will look to take it out on the cowardly lion. I have not been impressed with one aspect of the detroit game, they have started to play better on defense which is fine, but considering the offense is 3 and out the defense gets tired quickly. Brad Johnson should not be pressured and should have enough time to throw and make plays but I like the Left side of the Vikes line to open it up for Chester all day.

Buffalo (+10) over Chicago
Scared considering happy feet Losman is behind center but Dick Jeron (sp) has a good system for him. The o-line is not the greatest but they are opening up some room for McGahee but I expect his production to be nothing unless Losman starts the game throwing the ball which is IMO how the Bills need to come into this game. The world would be expecting the bills to want to get McGahee started, and the bears run defense will be ready for them. Still I like the way the Bills defense plays and I think they can keep this close enough to make a game of it. Grossman has been playing well lately but I just think this is a bit too much chalk.

Chiefs (-3.5) over Zona
KC will run the ball all over the cards. Rookie starting a QB is an UPGRADE but there will still be some growing pains. At this point in time KC is the better team, they need to show up on defense but I see them getting this done on offense. A big dose of LJ and mixed with playaction will have the EXTREMELY aggressive CB's biting all day. Don't get me wrong Ari plays well at home but they haven't shown up against good teams, the o-line has gotten better but it all hangs on Linehart today. Personally I think he will make that team 5 times better but jitters and adapting to the pace of the NFL means in his first start it might be difficult to do it all.

Cowboys (ML) over Philly
As much as I hate TO, I have to give the edge to dallas. Too many injuries for the Eagles secondary to play with the WR's of Dallas. We all know Dawkins will be rolling over to TO because if he catches it Dawkins will line him up, but that leave Glenn getting one v one and that was a very big play producer last week. The Dallas defense is VERY quick and with Stallworth, and Westbrooke hurt I just see that Dallas can cover the remaining weapons. Too many injuries for Philly, a dallas team getting motivation from TO and at this point the better defense make this my play. Also I am just not sold on Andy Rieds playing calling ability. Philly has a good coaching staff and they will have the team ready for this game but I just don't see them having the horses to keep up. The crowd will help, I wonder if they throw pills at TO all day?

Cheers

interesting note my book has:
Buffalo 14%
Chicago-11.0 -10.0 86%

Cleveland 14%
Carolina -9.0 -8.0 86%

So the majority of money is on the Favs but the line moves the other way.

Small play
Cleveland (+8) over Car
Considering this line movement, and the failure for Carolina to finish teams off in the past few weeks. I'll take the 8 points and look to Frye, Edwards and Winslow to put up some points because the defense is hurting and that bad considering the second CB's will be matching up with Smith and KeShawn and the running game came a live a bit last week. Still Cleveland is scrappy and I don't see them quitting.

Looked at the browns for a long long time, but just can't squeeze out a play. If Boddin can play, and play effectively, they have a shot, but taking on Smith and Johnson with two backup corners is a tough task.

Mia (+10) over NE
Smaller play
Without Culpepper I think the dolphins are about 50% better. Getting Harrington behind center is an upgrade considering Culpepper was not 100% and was not playing his best football befoe the injury. Harrington can be effenctive, they have a good WR group solid running back and decent TE. The O-line has to show up which they have not really done lately. The miami defense has played well enough but they have had to overcome Culpeppers mistakes, Harrington should give them a bit more production and to spot Mia 10 at home is a lot even though NE is the better team I like the chalk with the new QB.

Having a terrible weekend in pro ball
Balt (+5.5) over Denver
Like the balt defense against Plummer and this is the reason they brought McNair in. He manages offense and should do so tonight. I think after watching the SD game against Pitt the SD offense and defense is a lot tougher than I thought and Baltimore did a good job of keeping them under wraps. Both teams are playoff caliber but in this contest I'll take the points. Would like to see J. Lewis have a big day and take some pressure off McNair but I think the overall speed of the defense will be a problem for Denver. I would like to see McAllister play better Rolle has done his part but McAllister is not been in normal form early this season. McNair and the Ravens defense on monday night should be hyped up enough to combat the crowd. Also would like to see Plummer toss some picks. After a big game with NE and a bye the Denver team will be up and ready. Should be a good game, but I also like the kickers for both teams. IMO I think the Balt defense is a bit tougher and I like them with the points.
Man this weekend just made me curl up in a ball in the shower crying while I listened to the crying game soundtrack.
